I'd say patch the hole. If you don't feel your sewing skills are up to it, find a local tailor to do it for you. It shouldn't be a very expensive repair.
Zimbabwe cotton is cotton from the country of Zimbabwe. Simple, huh? It's noteworthy because it's a very high quality, long staple cotton that makes smooth, strong thread.

about a week into the busters...
to cuff
or not to cuff
Why not hem? Better than either of the above options, imho.

I actually like the color of those. They make for a nice change of pace from all the black and dark brown boots we normally see here.

Hitachino Nest White Ale in a small bottle- nice! When I can find it at all, I can only get it in 750ml bottles. Love that stuff.

Go with the Dry Bones, just because they're more unique. If you feel like it, you can still get the 710s later. They'll still be around, the DBs won't.

The straight fit looks great on you, Chris. How much wear have those guys had?
Not a lot, to be honest. Maybe 4-6 weeks of actual wear since I got them back in July? I like them, it's just that I binged on jawns over the summer and I've been swapping pairs out so often that none of them really have any decent wear.
Beatle- your bud is doing a nice job of beating on the PIs. Good to see that "Permanent" is still going to fade if you want it to.
And I like the pocket stitch, too.

It's always a challenge to follow dkatz, and sadly, it's a challenge I will fail to meet. Nonetheless, someone has to do it, I guess.

And you've convinced me to start wearing mine again, groove. I gotta say, these feel really light since I've been mostly wearing my IH634S for the last 4-6 weeks. Love the feel of the denim, though. I also sorta like the change of pace of switching to a lighter weight denim.
These are the 1220FI, for the record.

Too bad they didn't look as good with the boots- those are pretty sharp. Fit definitely looks better now. Keep them and let us see how they look after a few weeks of wear.

BBs are a more versatile cut and a really nice intro to the IH way of life.

i thought the were normal 634s and not 634s-b
You're right- they're the 634s. Khan made a mistake; usually he's really good about that sort of thing.

Because he always wears the IH-301 and not the IH-634S...
Except that here he's in the X634SX.
true size 29. went with a 30. fits perfectly
Probably the fit's a little slimmer looking because of the flannel lining.

Excellent fit on those, groove. And Lando's right- there's far too little love for Triple Works on SuFu. They really are well made jeans and have lots of top level details, like the half lined rear pockets, double layer front pockets and (my favorite) selvedge fly. Seeing your pics makes me want to dig my pair out of the stack again.

Yeah, I say standard, too.

does neone know what kind of thread momo uses, specifically on their back pockets? ive made four too many repairs to my back pockets. is it full cotton, cotton/poly blend etcI think Momotaro uses cotton threads. no blends or poly stuff.
I'm not positive, but I think the stitching is a poly/cotton blend. 100% cotton thread is a lot weaker and Momo stitching doesn't seem to fall apart very quickly (based on the evo pics I've seen).
I could be wrong, though- I often am.

What's she do to thrash the inside seam on the knees, ride horses? That's unusual looking wear.

Definitely the 666, then. 5000 cut isn't really a slim straight one.
Edit: Damn, LC, beat me to it.

The Beatle Busters are the same 21oz denim as most of the other IH jeans, so they'll fade the same as the 634s and the 301s. Do a search and you should find plenty of pics.

Logically I would assume that they're basically the same thing except for a difference in the direction of the "diagonal lines" the twill creates.
Yep, that's exactly what the difference is. RHT is more common, probably because that's what Levis have always used. As for your Samurais, odds are pretty good that they're RHT, also. Only a couple of Special Edition models use LHT, as far as I know. To figure out for sure, just look at your jeans- if the weave lines start at the left and go upward to the right, they're RHT. Easy.
As for the difference in the fading and feel, I've heard that LHT produces better falling (streaky vertical fades), but I don't know that from personal experience. LHT is supposed to be softer, too. From what I've read, that's because thread is usually spun in a right hand twist, so when the denim shrinks from washing, the LHT weave tightens and pulls in the opposite direction and slightly untwists the threads, so that they're less rigid. But again, that's what I've read and I don't know this from personal experience.

Not just the fatties that are excluded- I wear either a 32 or a 33, but I have 24" thighs. I wouldn't be able to pull these things past my knees. Same with the Dry Bones and RingRing collabs. My wallet thanks you, Self Edge.

Check out the Triple Works 1220 model. TW doesn't get a lot of recognition, but the jeans are nice (and solidly in your price range).

SR's look amazing!!
Regarding the Beatle Busters though, are they going to be an ongoing line, or a one-time only thing? I'm not sure if this has been mentioned or not, so sorry if it was already asked.
As I remember, Giles basically said IH would keep making them as long as people keep buying them. I think he's already done a second order, based on demand from the initial run.
Beatle would know better than I do, of course.

Both?
I'd wear 'em and not worry about it.

Agreed. Go for the 634sb rather than another pair of 710xx.
