  1. The straight fit looks great on you, Chris. How much wear have those guys had?

Not a lot, to be honest. Maybe 4-6 weeks of actual wear since I got them back in July? I like them, it's just that I binged on jawns over the summer and I've been swapping pairs out so often that none of them really have any decent wear.

Beatle- your bud is doing a nice job of beating on the PIs. Good to see that "Permanent" is still going to fade if you want it to.

And I like the pocket stitch, too.:)

  2. And you've convinced me to start wearing mine again, groove. I gotta say, these feel really light since I've been mostly wearing my IH634S for the last 4-6 weeks. Love the feel of the denim, though. I also sorta like the change of pace of switching to a lighter weight denim.

These are the 1220FI, for the record.

  3. Because he always wears the IH-301 and not the IH-634S...

Except that here he's in the X634SX.

true size 29. went with a 30. fits perfectly

Probably the fit's a little slimmer looking because of the flannel lining.

  4. Excellent fit on those, groove. And Lando's right- there's far too little love for Triple Works on SuFu. They really are well made jeans and have lots of top level details, like the half lined rear pockets, double layer front pockets and (my favorite) selvedge fly. Seeing your pics makes me want to dig my pair out of the stack again.

  5. does neone know what kind of thread momo uses, specifically on their back pockets? ive made four too many repairs to my back pockets. is it full cotton, cotton/poly blend etc
I think Momotaro uses cotton threads. no blends or poly stuff.

I'm not positive, but I think the stitching is a poly/cotton blend. 100% cotton thread is a lot weaker and Momo stitching doesn't seem to fall apart very quickly (based on the evo pics I've seen).

I could be wrong, though- I often am.:)

  6. Logically I would assume that they're basically the same thing except for a difference in the direction of the "diagonal lines" the twill creates.

Yep, that's exactly what the difference is. RHT is more common, probably because that's what Levis have always used. As for your Samurais, odds are pretty good that they're RHT, also. Only a couple of Special Edition models use LHT, as far as I know. To figure out for sure, just look at your jeans- if the weave lines start at the left and go upward to the right, they're RHT. Easy.

As for the difference in the fading and feel, I've heard that LHT produces better falling (streaky vertical fades), but I don't know that from personal experience. LHT is supposed to be softer, too. From what I've read, that's because thread is usually spun in a right hand twist, so when the denim shrinks from washing, the LHT weave tightens and pulls in the opposite direction and slightly untwists the threads, so that they're less rigid. But again, that's what I've read and I don't know this from personal experience.

  7. SR's look amazing!!

Regarding the Beatle Busters though, are they going to be an ongoing line, or a one-time only thing? I'm not sure if this has been mentioned or not, so sorry if it was already asked.

As I remember, Giles basically said IH would keep making them as long as people keep buying them. I think he's already done a second order, based on demand from the initial run.

Beatle would know better than I do, of course.
