  1. Decided to take some shots of my Iron Hearts 301 overdyes. I treated the leather patch as well. I use this stuff I got from the local Blundstone store. It is mostly tallow with some neatsfoot oil and other waxes and oils. Works pretty well on my boots so I thought it couldn't hurt.

Some nice blue fades coming through on the belt loops.

Wallet marks starting to show and the overdye is almost all gone from the stitching.

  2. I have had my Corter belt for almost a year. I have never oiled or treated in any way. It has been rain and sweat soaked and stood up well.

Added my own buckle and the keep from my last oxblood belt.

  3. Maybe it's just the angle of the pictures, but am I the only one that thinks the toe stitching looks a little ragged on those Russells?

the stitching looks pretty uneven to me too. i wouldn't want that after waiting 3 months even if they were in the right colour.

  4. Damn, unfortunately i won't be there to meet you. I'm sure our crew there will take good care of you.

Next time I am in SanFran I'll stop by. It is next on my list of places to go. Went when I was a kid and loved the city. My store just put in our first order of 3Sixteen jeans to carry this Spring so I am looking forward to meeting Andrew in person if he is there.

  5. I am going to get my Alden Roy boots resoled locally. There is no way I am waiting months to get it done. It will be a lot cheaper locally too. The trick is just finding a reliable cobbler to do it. I am thinking a double leather sole or commando for the resole.

  6. david glantz does all my stuff. fantastic for color. not sure about his black and white work though. he is really about the bright colours. he's a buddy of mine so i am biased. his work is really fantastic and he is a cool dude to talk to while you get your work done... plus he has tv's installed in his rooms.

  7. Thanks ajchen, he's pretty good and works quick. His online portfolio doesn't do his work justice at all.

For aftercare etc, I don't have a particular brand but I like the stick rub-on sunblock because it's easy to go over tattoos and leave the non tatted parts. If you have a full sleeve or whatever I'd probably just slather some high SPF one that is very sweat/waterproof.

I read somewhere that spray on sunblock didn't leave a halo around the tattoo you usually get from other sunblocks but I dunno if it's true. I've never tried the spray.

the best advice i ever heard was do what your artists tells you. they all have differing opinions. with regards to sunblock DO NOT get waterproof stuff. That stuff will trap the moisture and not breath well. The only thing I put on my tattoos is lubriderm when it gets really stiff. Other than that I let it heal naturally. For the sun I keep it covered.
