  1. xpost with a couple other threads...

Finally got my hands on some of the photos they too for the Tattooers for Japan I participated in a week or so ago. Got a little ink on my IH's during the process and my tattooer was rocking 634s's as well. They guys at the shop raised a few thousand dollars for Japan that day doing small Japanese themed flash tattoos they custom made for the event. I got a couple of Japanese WW2 planes to go with the theme of my arm so far and they were made specifically at my request (other people were allowed to get them though). I was the only one who had a tattoo designed for them and I am pretty happy with the result.

  3. Was taking some pics of my granddads Navy sweater and I thought I would take a couple quick one of my Iron Heart 301 overdyes.

The ass seems to getting the most fading probably due to the my riding a scooter or motorcycle every day of the week. I pair them up usually with my Corter belt, my purple Hill-Side bandanna and I always have my knife and heavy duty pen at my side. The right front pocket seems to get more wear too because I have my keys hanging from the belt loop with the self edge silver key fob and flat head keyring.

  4. If anyone needs Dayton boots, they're offering $125 off their boots until April13th. Service boots are included ($400). $15 topy if you want it.

They are essentially the W+H Boots minus distressing.

Pretty good deal. They take phone orders, or that's what I found to be the easiest. Turn around on them is 4-6weeks though.

i can never seem to find the service boots online to see what they look like sans distressing are they hidden somewhere on their site?

  5. The artist that does most of my work took part, along with his team, in Tattooers For Japan. Great day and saw some great tattoos done. They created some custom flash for the event to deal with the amount of people wanting tattoos. These are the tree pages of flash.

I chose the planes, well, actually, they were designed for me. When I heard what they were doing I sent David Glantz, the owner, a text and asked if there would be any planes... he drew them on my request. The pictures are bad but I am really happy with the result. My plan is to have some more WW2 planes on the rest of my arm in a dog fight.

Check out Archive Tattoo for some great tattoos!

  6. Yeah they removed the entire crepe sole. They had some random crepe soles in stock but considering the first sole only lasted a year I thought I would go with something tougher. They had to build a heel from scratch too. I would love to add some waxed laces. Might even try waxing some myself withe fjallraven wax I have and see how they turn out. The original alden laces lasted about a month. Mind you I am pretty hard on my boots as I work in a motorcycle and clothing shop. Kick starting bikes wears everything out pretty quickly. The high sheen polish is actually growing on me too.

  7. Picked this shirt up from Klaxon Howl in Toronto. I love their stuff. All the materials are made locally and the clothing is seen locally. They have their first Fall/Winter show this Friday at Toronto Fashion Week. I have a few of their shirts and can attest to their high quality.

  8. Took my Alden Roy boots to get resoled and have some repairs done. Really pleased with the outcome. They buffed them to a high sheen which I am not in love with but don't mind... it will wear off quickly the way I wear my boots.

They had to build a proper heel

I was wearing through the inner heel because the boots stretched out so they glued and sewed in a piece of leather on the inside to cover the holes.
