^This. I've a pair of the Caribous and I would say it's a slim regular fit, as you have already deduced. The rise and thigh measurements are what steered me toward them. I think it's a more flattering fit for guys who prefer regular cuts.

What if he printed them?

Well, I ended up buying the last regular gray loopwheeled sweatshirt on sale at BiG. While it is not as thick as the Heller's hooded sweat (which I now suspect is more on par with Buzz, McCoys, etc.), it is a nice fit, weight and quite comfortable. I'm happy with the $100 I saved instead of ordering the sweat with the applique overseas. Thanks for all the input, fellas.

Hey guys, BMH re-posted this topic in the appropriate Rising Sun thread-- we should keep that thread active instead.

Patch is so-so for me, but diggin' the domed rivets. I'll have to swing by on my way to visit the fam in NoVA. Do you all offer a chainstitch hem service?

Looks good, man. Can you compare the heft/weight of the fabric with anything else? I have a WH/Heller's sweatshirt that is nice and dense, but your comment leaves me with some reservation about proceeding with my order.

Any of you have experience with WH sweatshirts? Specifically the ones with print or felt appliqué? Deciding between a 40 and 42. When I've tried on other garments (tees and shirts) the sizing seems to be all over the place. Based on site measurements, the 42 seems a bit large, but I'm trying to figure out if I should factor in shrinkage as I plan to just wash and dry as I would any other garment.

Yeah xchen, I thought it would save time, but I think because there were fewer places to go for early voting the result was a bit worse than if I'd waited to go to my designated polling station.
Three hours? That's insane. This is gonna be another close election.

Saturday: went for 13-mile bike ride and then off to the early voting polls. An hour later, I vowed never to do that again. I thought it would be a good idea to get it out of the way, as I read up on all the candidates running for various positions in NC. Bad idea. There were record numbers at the polls; a lot of it has to do with NC remaining as a "lean" or "swing" state in the presidential race. Should have waited 'til election day.

Denime

Don't listen to b_F. The guy is a total nutcase when it comes to Denime...
Seriously though, not enough love for this brand. I've got the New66 (posted several pages back) and am quite pleased with them. I think i sized down 2 (!) at Jay's suggestion, but I probably should have sized down 1. The fit is good, but snug. I am confident I can make them work-- I just haven't gotten much wear in with the AW contest. Denime is a solid buy.

man, a lot of hate for mr. beck. is this from personal experience, or from reading left wing message boards?
He's pretty much a spinster and as such, makes pretty inflammatory comments from time to time. It's good for ratings. No different from, say, Olbermann on the other side of the spectrum. I don't listen to either. You can always google either of these guys and come up with a list of dumb things they've said. As far as stupid family goes, I agree, that can temper our disdain a bit, but these are actually grown-ass men who get paid to speak their opinions to the masses so they're bound to delight and offend. I've got a shorter leash with public figures who get their "slice of pie" through media.
As for me, I'm interested in just about anything that's new in this niche. So far I'm unimpressed with the advertising/backstory. It's pretty poorly executed, imo. But, that doesn't mean the jeans are crap. Details and pricing look decent enough, maybe we'll see some pics. Now if you'll excuse me, I have REAL American work to get to; I'm building an unmanned rocket in my backyard.

I was trying to be sympathetic with his level of knowledge and how he was trying to explain his understanding of denim and the history of jeans in America, but yeah, he's all over the friggin' place. Levi's moved everything to China? I don't know what "fake" rivets are. And he really likes to use the word "original" a lot. I dig the passion, but twisting facts (intentional or not) to sell product irks me.
I'm curious enough to see if someone gets a pair and sheds some light on these. I do like the plain copper(?) buttons. Happy, they might be made in the USA. When Raleigh Denim first started out, I think Victor mentioned that the buttons (which look similar) were either made in KY or GA. I can't remember which.
Edit: It's kind of a weird commercial. The setup was good, but then you realize he was building a fake metal rocket??

We capped off the day with (what else?) exploitation of farm animals.
And my last dish of the day: fresh-made ice cream. Cherry-vanilla. Unbelievable.

My gluttony knows no bounds. Next up: the doughnut cheeseburger.
It was an occasion to see all the different exhibits. Sorry I didn't take more, but here is a snapshot of the local art on display with my friend sneaking in.

Been too long, brethren. I went to the North Carolina State Fair today. I've been to a few state fairs, but North Carolina does it right every year. We headed out around 10:30am to beat the rush, but found the crowds already swelling.
I need to look into this society. Sounds elitist.
This was my breakfast: london broil sandwich slathered in cheese, peppers, and onions.
First dessert was a southern/NC State Fair must: deep-fried Oreos.
You find just about ANYTHING deep-fried. check it:
I got the deep-fried cinnamon roll with bacon bits. Insanely delicious-- the sweet and the savory in one ridiculous dish.

Ok if you really must know... The problem I have with making these kinds of arguments is that is tired and obvious that on this forum, there are plenty of options once you get to a certain price point. It's not a knock on any particular brand's quality in comparison. On a thread that involves the name Slimane, it's practically a given that you're not paying for the particular quality that goes into some of the incredible brands available, but there are certainly other reasons why someone would. It's Slimane-- it's a no brainer-- it's going to be more expensive because of the name. Most of the folks who wear Dior know this, so what's the big fucking deal if they want to spend their money on it? I wouldn't, and like you, I have a few non-denim pieces, but we could easily make this thread into "what else we could buy at BIG or SE for $600+". And if if we're really into slinging dicks, we can compare my Roy's to his Oni's, and then some asshole will come along and tell us we're all "gay" for spending even $100 on a pair of jeans when we could be spending it on something a lot more practical and "worthy". This is hyperbole, but the fact that someone would want to pay $400 for those hideous Balanciaga sweatshirts is beyond me, but I understand why. Sure, they're hand embellished or some rubbish like that, but I'd rather buy 5 x $80 Mister Freedom tees that're silk-screened by hand. The point is, we're all fanboys (and gals) of denim, and if people are going to spend several hundred dollars on designer/premium clothing, I certainly understand the diverse reasons why they would.

Description says they were "hot washed for wind resistance".

Definitely going to recommend the gf to look into a pair of these. Those fits look great. Although, I'm not feeling the model's expression in the first pic.

I've seen at least two different types of tags with the "western wear" logo. I'm not certain how "accurate" they are (in relation to the jeans) when it comes to labeling their shirts.
