  1. You can find buckles here:

    www.riverjunction.com

They'll kill you on shipping charges (domestic and foreign), and if you email them about the possibility of shipping them in a plain, stamped envelope, they'll give you a BS answer... but they're the only game in town, it seems.

  2. I believe so. Also, I thought this might be a list worth keeping updated.

If I've been keeping track correctly.....

    15th 1001XX, new 1001XX, 15th 1105XX = 7X7 denim

    15th 1003XX, new 1000XX = 6X6 denim

    660, 700, 800 = 7X6 denim

1004XX? Looks like the 7X7 used in the 1001XX.

And here are fit pics after the initial warm soak:

    Edit: better fit pics

  3. Had to jet to work while these were still drying this afternoon, but I did manage to wear 'em a bit as they were still a little damp (right before I left the house). Here are the post-soak measurements. I did a warm soak for 30 mins.

    16.75 W

    11.5 FR

    15.5 BR

    12.5 TH

    32.00 INS

    08.50 LO

  4. Agreed. If anything I was hoping for it to be a little larger than tagged. If it's a historical detail, it's probably one I could do without. ; ) But I guess this is what Warehouse likes to do from time to time. Those old 660s were a nightmare to figure out.

The next size up was too large in the waist. Not too worried, however, as I've soaked to fit before, and will do so again. (They're soaking now...)

  5. Interesting. The copy for the 1100 states these are made using Texas cotton-- do we know if the other similar/suspected models and their respective 7x7 denims were made with Texas, Memphis, Arizona, or other? I vaguely remember seeing somewhere the 1105 uses a blend, but that was more recent read and not a few years ago. Haven't kept up on Warehouse, so I can't speak to the consistency year to year.

  6. I wish I could say so, but the Devis pair will take priority, which isn't so bad. These will certainly be in the mix throughout the year, and I'll be wearing 'em until the contest begins.

  7. My bad. It's tagged 34. The only other pairs of Warehouse denim in my closet are the 660s and the Heller's x Warehouse Lion (distressed but bought for $10 at a sample sale a few years ago). I love my LVCs (wearing my 44s today), but damn, this denim makes me wish they would produce stuff like this again. My first thought out of the package was that it was similar to the Roy x Cone denim, but putting them next to each other really contrasts their differences.

I put em next to the RN04 and the Buzz 43023. It is, of course comparing apples to oranges, but you get the idea with regard to color. Not as gray as the Roys but not as deep as the Buzz.

  8. Just got the 1100s in. Will post fit pics (hopefully) this weekend. The denim is a neppy blue/gray; definitely not dark. I've got nothing to compare it with... Initially it definitely seems to weigh lighter than the 1000XX denim.

    Approximate measurements in inches:

    16.75 W

    12.00 FR

    16.00 BR

    12.75 TH

    34.00 INS

    08.75 LO

  9. Is 1 year really enough to do those jeans justice? I know, the longer the contest is the more might lose interest. But after...well 18 months the jeans will look much better (I think)

18 months sounds reasonable, although life can definitely get in the way the longer we extend the duration of the contest. However, as I look at the list, almost everyone appears to be a regularly contributing member on sufu, so I think we stand a good chance of keeping this thing alive for at least that long. Either way, I'm in.

  10. Lookin good, b_f. Any of you ever had a busted outseam? I'm just wondering if I should just take my new 66 to a local tailor or if repair would be better suited to a specialist.

  11. Will do, sir. I'll post initial pics for sure. Unfortunately, they'll get sporadic wear with the contest coming up. They were on discount, but still ended up costing about $200 shipped. With regard to sizing, I sized up to a 34 for the same reasons you mentioned.

  12. Just bought a pair of the 1100 and waiting for them to arrive. Probably not a wise decision with the Devis project coming up, but what the hey-- you only live once.

  13. This kind of response will drive away the vast majority of people.

This is probably a good thing. In the context of your question, bm's response was apt. Also, the vast majority of people are not looking to make custom jeans and/or quality clothing. Small questions thread. Or start in the denim encyclopedia thread.

  14. Merry Christmas, William and staff. Thanks for your enthusiasm and sharing your process-- it's a large reason why I own two tumblers, two mugs, and several articles of clothing. Amazing stuff, and look forward to seeing more in the new year.
