  1. Really curious how this fabric behaves...I've been wearing my oldschool OA01XX as I await the new TCB contest jeans, and I appreciate the stretchiness of the old OAXX as the LHT of the Ooe contest jeans is less forgiving and I can't wear them anymore.

  2. Bad news friends:

Props to volvo for giving me the heads up that Inoue-san hadn't received my pair yet today. Long story short, the package was marked undeliverable, was sent to my return home address, but was delivered next door in error and was sitting in their mailroom for maybe a week or two (annoyingly happens pretty frequently; had a pair of White's boots stolen because of this). I wasn't tracking my pair so I had no idea, but I'll have to re-send them.

I'm hoping this doesn't delay everyone else's replacement pair, but totally willing to pay shipping costs on mine if Inoue-san can send everyone else's out first ASAP and make my pair separately. Complete headache, sorry for any inconvenience!

  3. Wowwwww the SBGT241.....Extremely jealous! Would totally pick one up myself if...I had money lol But really it's such a great release on GS' part, and be proud to know you own a rare super adjusted 9F at the highest accuracies. My "standard" 9F has not lost a second since I bought it over 10 months ago. Insane to think, but its truly such an engineering feat in my opinion.

@ALB definitely visit Timeless Luxury watches in Frisco. Bought my GS' through them and got an excellent deal (20-30% off MSRP, depending on model, rarity etc)

Oddly got bitten by the watch bug.

Been looking at the Glashutte Original senators observer and the Grand Seiko SBGW253 or SBGR261. Both brands seem to be well regarded but the former is probably gonna be gotten used while the latter new unless I can find them cheaper elsewhere.

I like how the Glashuttes look but curious to know if the brand is overblown and only commands a high price due to marketing and hype. They seem good from what I've read but I wanna ask you watch aficionados.

@ALB where are you based? I'd say all are extremely classy watches (particularly the GO Senator Observer) but at that price point you really want to try them on in person before taking the plunge. Personally if I'm going GS on strap I'd choose an SBGJ217/SBGJ219 or SBGM221. While the 253 is an incredible watch, I've personally never been a big fan on modern re-creations. The GMT's I mentioned are more contemporary and unique to modern GS design, which is a bonus in my book. For the SBGR261, I prefer the old dial in this style (SBGR061) as it's more balanced, but the cream dial is very nice and milky in person. Honestly you can't go wrong with any of the above so it has to come down to personal preference on wrist. The Senator will likely wear the largest, but keep in mind GS are also thick, even if under 5mm smaller case diameter wise.

  5. ^It's said you never really hear of anyone who "used to be a watch guy".....B)

Re: Luminor Due, the 3 bar "water resistance" is a bit of a sham if looking for a true diver! Always liked the look and size of them though

  6. ^I'm the biggest Seiko fan, no doubt about it, but hands down the best dive watch is going to be the Sub. Nothing wrong with Sinn or Omega, or Seiko, etc. of course, but one has to admit there's nothing like the iconic sub, it just has that look, because it is that look. It will also fit under a cuff because it's the perfect size (even if maxi). 14060/14060M may be your best compromise if you don't mind stretching a little over $5k. Otherwise it might be better to buy a more all around sports watch like the Aqua Terra in my opinion.

Lots of talk about the WG BLRO being discontinued as well. If they bring back the SS Pepsi in a slimmed case...oh man...

Coke over pepsi! But only because they have to release it given the pepsi in WG

As far as divers, I hate to say it but I've been moving away from them as well given my 6 inch wrist. They should be big and legible by toolish design, but I think as long as I have 100m WR on my daily watch (screw down crown preferred), I'll be good enough, though I do submerge my watches pretty often enough in water. Lots of cool things coming up for Basel, it's going to be a long wait

The measurements are post-wash, and it's the same cut. My experience with all 4 pairs of OA I own has been the same - the waist will return to raw measurements after wearing.

With my personal size 36 Golden Gate 01's, I could barely close them raw, and after a hot soak, it took me about 15 minutes to get them buttoned up again. Now they're perfect.

Would it be too much to expect a size 38 to stretch back out to a 38? My wash/dry routine is pretty frequent and without care, I worry they'd stay tight after a while

  9. Sorry if this was already addressed; Do we have an ETA on when to expect the new jeans? Will they go through the same process of being shipped to the PI, and then shipped out to us, or will they be sent from TCB directly? Understanding that they likely need all pairs back first before they can proceed. Need to know if I should buy new jeans in the interim, or if I can bear with my...tighter than expected...Ooe's for a week or two!

  10. SBGH035 would've been killer but congrats on the Oris! Might be best to wait till after Basel to see if any of the new models pique your interest, GS wise...Who knows if they'll release something outside of what already leaked. VFA would be amazing if I could afford one (the one leak I'm most looking forward to seeing in the metal). I've completely moved away from divers the past two weeks and am having some sort of identity crisis lol
