Bought my pair from BEARS...with free shipping and without Japanese tax it's hard to beat Sugar Cane's pricepoint
Those Canes look fantastic, I have a pair of the 1955s and do like the high waist fit very much. I wonder how to avoid the Japanese tax. I tried buying a pair from bears but always it was stated "tax included", also later at the PayPal checkout there wasn't´t a tax discount and I would have had to pay 130,-€, which still is a good price I know.

sorry but where is the "B"? i had several Valencia street 551zzx´s and they all came around true to size, but fit different to the 1967s 505s. actually wider at the legs and hips (attention hipflare, either you have a big bum or you have to size down to fill in), just like a 501 of that period. i didn't´t like the relatively short front rise though.

finally someone shows up in a pair of 84s, great!
the fit looks right to me. do they come true to size?
how is the denim? is it hairy? at the pics on the Levis site it looks rather flat and uniform compared to the 76s denim or other denims being used for the lvc line.

it was invited in the small suburban town pleasantville at the era when jeans wouldn't´t have been only worn by farmers and workers but from little tommy who's mum would had pressed em to look at least a little preppy in a pair of jean, a sacrifice for not wearing slacks. and then the 60s sta prests came

thank you, indeed, its very thickish woven alpaca pile.
invertere exported many of those coats to the states back in the seventies, where saks of 5th or paul stuart sold them under their own label

nice collection dry, I guess what you are referring to is what some people here call the marble effect, which occurs from leaving the jeans on the outside while being washed, parts, such as whisker grades that are expsosed to the tumble wall fade more because from the mechanical stress. I love this, especially in combination with a nice hight contrast fade, a double pattern if you will.

topnotchers idea is great, but with this hard wearing denim you would need something really solid,
such as a one handed bar clamp which is reversible to become stretcher. i´ve had so many jeans widen with that tool
just about two pairs of 201xx... it´s just important to use the tool while the denim is wet
(leave the clamp on until the jeans has fully dried) and be faint at the start, for this device is so powerful it can break the buttons off.

funny, i got a similar pair from an eBay purchase today, same production run. i can tell that these now run true to size, as most recent rigid LVC jeans do.
this is the 1st pair in years. i had worn several pairs over the years and can confirm that the kaihara denim achieved one the best fading results.
btw. my rolling stones avatar shows joe dallesandro wearing original 505s
enjoy your new pair.

hi folks, has anyone succsessfully stretched a pair of Red Wing engineer 2966 klondike widewise at the instep, right where the bootleg part and the foot part of the leather are connected, just where the buckelbelt sits? My boots fit perfectly lengthwise and hurt after few minutes for the are too snug at this part. many thanks in advance for any comment

the cut maybe not authentic, but the denim beeing used is (was ) great, btw. it´s the same denim beeing used for the 55 and type2.
these photo i found recently at ebay and show how great something that i would call a double patterns can look, which is to achive by avoiding washing you jeans as long as possible and then to wash outside out along with with some other laundry to squeze the pair while washing and to cause the marbel effect.

great find flash! i am with you here. also i will "hopefully" never fit into my recent pair.
yours seem to be from the same period, and interesting enough also don´t show of tear off tag. what does the back of waist button read, and does your pair feature laundry information inside?

Thank you all for sharing your experience on this.
Time to show some pics of the US mades 1955s evolution bought preowned a few years ago.
Hope to find a raw pair once, but being really not into buying via proxys I have to wait for a lucky day on eBay.
