  2. The 44 has changed significally throug the years to slim thighs, hence the waist and pelvis part is still comfortable.

My two years old pair in size W30 measures 29cm from the crotch to the leg outseam and 22cm across the knee erea.

    Hope I could help.

  3. i forget about the `44 which where my alltime favorite before they where redesigned towards slimmer legs and the ´76 joined the line , but still love the high rise(the highest from all non cinch models). The denim was imo one of the best LVC offered. Here a worn in pair from ebay (it´s the current version):

  4. currently i´m breaking in a pair of '76, wearing em mostly on weekends for around two years now, with out a wash. also some '55 and '47 is in my rotation.

i like the 76 for fit and denim which is greyish, heavy and hairy - the 55 for the hairy and slubby denim - the 47 for the fit .

if i had another job i would break in my 1890s and 1880s, but scratching the office furniture  isn´t an option.

  5. 1937 2(5)01xx: if you are patient you will eventually find a pair at more reasonable price on ebay, allthough some japan ebayers sell these for around 800 $.

seems they are going crazy for the valencia street LVCs.

and beware of the sizing, they run true to size unwashed (also shrink a lot) and feature a heavy taper. (wide bumm and thighs / lean waist)

  6. beautful pair! got two pairs of these 1st giants over the years from ebay, a w32 and later a w30 pair for the 32 was really giant on me, but unfortnately even using the last hole of the cinch my w30 fitted like a true w34. i never have seen a w28 pair though... i love the details of 1870s-1890s levis such as the flat rivets and the coin pockets reaching up to the waist. interesting that those details along with twisted seams, which might have been inspired by the crazy natural leg twists of old levis, giving the whole RED collection such a hyper modern if not futuristic look, if you might say so.

  7. as i was always a fan of the denim used for the earliest RED range and the one from around 2008, i wonder where it was made? cone? japan? italy?

  8. few month ago i bought those natural indigo 1873s, unworn with tags still attached, from ebay for like 100,-€. the denim has a nice green cast and could fade beautyful. unfortunately my pair runs very big compared to 1870s from last years season, so it´s still unworn in my collection...

what happened to your pair Paul?

  9. nice maynard. this years lvc collection features a type 2 and 1955 501 that are not unlike the giant quilted red jean in the link, they celebrate different cone denims...

  10. just bought my 1st pair of realy nice Skull 5002xx WWII jeans at a more than reasonable price. I am impressed by the heavy denim. Does anyone how much it is? I would assume at least 15oz. anyway I wonder why skull lost its popularity alond SuFu!?

  11. @spiraltoy, i remember these, being one of ther first so called "vault" pieces, not unlike the famous homer jeans. the tapered legs for sure weren´t done by the factory though. these are 1901s btw, since they lack the beltloops.

  12. so it´s been 20 years now since european designed LEVI´S RED appeared to the fashion world.

does anyone know if Levi´s is about to celebrate it?

after chasing nearly 20 years for it, i recently got a unworn pair of the 1st giants. I really love the cotton/hemp denim which is at the same level as some famous japanese denims.

does anybody have any info of the denim? who made this?

    anyone else into RED?
