  1. i just want hayashi-san to judge. just because he left or sold denime doesn't mean he shouldn't be allowed to judge. denime is HIS baby. plus these new cats are putting out wack shit, and tried to fuck up the prestige of what he created, so they are surely NOT FIT to judge contest such as this. if not hayashi-san himself, inazuma mag is a name we all love and trust...they know fades as well as anyone. i love francis, where is he anyway? gardnerfan and your baggy denimes, where are you? show these cats how to buy em loose:D ha ha

  2. damn, the 800s fit great on lendo.

as far as i know the 1000xx is a specific type of denim. the 1001xx is a different type of denim, and a cut as well. if i'm wrong, it won't be the first time...so school a brother

  3. yeah i just took the time yesterday to fix all of the worn threads. i got a hole on my thigh at the bottom of the pocket bag. i always get holes here since the bottom of the pocket bags are always thicker than the rest of it, so anything rubbing the front of my thighs causes higher friction there. jeans look good amar

  4. yeah, this morning i was smoking on the backporch and thinking '' this denime xx denim feels thicker than most 14 oz. denims''. i know via kiya that thicker denim doesn't directly translate to heavier, but this xx denim is crazy rugged. but once you wear it and wash it quite a bit it becomes very comfy. it's like a steak that you bite and you have to chew it quite a bit before you can swallow. happy dining!

  5. YO! the ruler is back bitches! i was planning a trip to NY soon, and i promised myself a pair of jeans from BiG, but now i refuse to buy any denim until i get a pair of these. he's got the workman's spirit, which makes me even sadder that he won't be judging this contest. good to see the master happy. this has nothing to do with denim, but youtube has a great hour-long show with mos def touring japan. just type in

'mos def in japan: embedded.' it's by current tv. i love how he straight up states how far behind japan america is in everything. ''america doesn't even make good jeans anymore.'' you couldn't slap the grin off of my face after that one!

  6. Thanks, I think that might be the key this one is a bit snug on me, I didn't know if that was the thing like having sized down jeans or not.

    that jacket is just right.

as for mine, it gotta get some fit pics up here soon. after reading the above posts, whenever weather permits i'm rocking the shit outta this jacket. i love it way too much.

  7. i realize now that the A-2 is a womans jacket. so now i'm stuck between saying ''fuck it, who will notice the zipper on the other side, the jacket is still dope'', and '' how can a self-respecting man wear a garment intended for women?'' i don't know.

  8. yup......like he said. for example, those lovely union stars just above(ahlong's). he only machine washed once, and there is noticable contrast, but if he washed them a bit more often these bitches would really shine. but don't take my word as gospel, i'm just a skinny nigga from the hood who loves real denim, and real denimheads alike...but i must say that since i started wetting the jeans and then laying them in the tub(or on the back porch) and then massaging soap lather into the denim makes the difference. came up with the idea from studying how people washed with rough washboards back in the good ole' days. i just rub the soap in with my palms, and the meat of my fingertips, no nails(that would be cheating to me). i don't scratch the denim, just massage the soap in. oh shit, i shouldn't be telling you fucks my secrets, i forgot i'm in a contest. :D

  9. yo farmer, stop fucking playing games man, it's too early on a saturday for this bullshit. we demand more pics and info that belt is the maybe the most beautifuly ugly shit ive ever seen. if there was no such thing as grail belt status, there is now

  10. damn, after seeing the details those are a killer deal for 80 smackers. kaihara denim, universal rivets, chainstitched hems, simple quality. and they seem to fade well

  11. thanx for the warp yarn gauge info. i love shit like that to ponder while i waste my life away at my deadend job. but i must say that FC denim shows really nice vertical fading(falling) when it starts to fade, but the slub becomes much less noticeable once the denim is completely worn to the whites. here's an example from my own 1108 non-contest jawns, you can see the denim in a few stages of wear and the variations in indigo hue and apparent slub/vertical falling:

FC denim pretty damn dark raw, but i've never seen them beside a pair of raw eternals, so let me shut the fuck up

  12. damn fam, good thing is you ain't far from SESF....

is it just me or did atzecs pair take off like a rocketship this past 2 months or so? i gotta keep my eye on this guy, all that hiking and traipsing around europe is paying off;). after seeing these recent evo shots from everyone it's clear and evident that the comp is getting real thick around here...don't any of you fucks think that i consider my fast-fades a shoo-in for an easy win. i'm well aware this contest is really just getting started...

pomata your fit is supremo. it's the hayashi-san fit:D digging the waist-pouch too. old man fades or bust bitches

  13. whoa, black denimes! is the denim truly black, or a overdye? im asking cause in some of the pics the denim has a bluish tint. nice find

  14. I dunno about that.. how light your jeans are, alll around, within a year pretty much shows they're fading in the non wear areas as much as in the wear areas

although over time some of the indigo in the less abraded areas of the denim will eventually wash out, it's no where near as much in the worn areas. that's where contrast comes from. if what you are saying is true all of our jeans would be completely a uniform color after a certain time. if the denim was made with a quality dye job the indigo should be noticably darker in the lesser worn/crocked areas. that's how old vintage jeans still have some blue in em'.

this past 2 or so pages has been off the rocker

  15. boiling,hot-machine drying, or ironing the jeans won't hurt the denim, although boiling them will do a possibly unwanted severe shrinking of the patch. the only reason people are still wearing denim till this day and age is because it first exhibited enough strength and durability to withstand rough treatment and rugged work conditions.

btw those behind-the-scenes pics are golden, i looked a lil deeper and found these special treats:

pics of worn momos are especially rare around here so i had to show them. we need a momo contest soon, this label is sinfully slept on...if it is to be denim, it is to be okayama

  16. i've always thought that fullcount denim and dry bones sushi-ear denim are similar.

trust the kid, watch out when boiling the jeans, cause just the steam rising over the pot will shrink the patch. with my denimes i already had the water boiling, so as i went to put the jeans in the steam rolled the leather up like a dutch. no one around here would know what kind of jeans i wear even if the patch is mint, so a shrunk patch isn't exactly a cock-block for me.

  17. trust the kid, if you boil the jeans, the tag will shrink. i've done it to denimes, fullcount, and warehouse. they all shrunk like hell. funny how it looks a little off on a pair of new jeans, but when they get good wear, the shrunk tag looks cool. some japanese cats shrink the leather patch on purpose during the first soak, and some companies one-wash jawns have pre-shunk patches. oh well, to each his own.

devilva, if you turn the evis inside-out and give em a little steam ironing the creases will go away no problemo...and it won't hurt the precious deadstock denim. after a day or two your own creases will set in, and you'll forget all about it.
