  1. Im surprised these havent gathered whispers and interest. They are 15th anniversary edition Full Counts, Cut a little to full for me but would be perfect for some... the best part - - - The Denim!!!! Look at that mad turquoisesque hue!!!

    contrast and compare.

daaaammmnnn!!!! And they have one in my size too. Though, as much as I like that greencast hue, I like the colour on the 1108 better than these 15th anniversary ones.

  2. Chutes is on vacation till the 8-9th of July or something.

Proxies are great. If the proxy is any good, they'll do the searching for you. They'll find your size and then send you a total to paypal them and send you the item quick via EMS. (ONLY send your stuff through fully tracked and insured EMS from Japan - you may get lucky a few times but eventually you will get stung). If you're trying to cheap out, trying to get stuff direct from Japan, you'd better learn Japanese and get used to the idea of attacks on your credit rating, because it's a jungle out there. And if you had bothered to read a few pages back, you'd know that Samurai no longer ships to the US because of their agreement with BiG.

That being said, I have ordered stuff direct from online stores and rakuten, but then I have japanese speaking friends and a japanese speaking parent who can help me out if I need it (and no, I'm not japanese).

  3. ah hah he ha hahahahahaha!

Of course I'm not the shopper that some of the others on this site are. Outside of Another in Darlinghurst where I got my Imperials (and they sell LVC as well). I don't know anywhere in Sydney that sells decent denim. I also checked out Glue for their Edwins, but they cost as much as my Samurai, IMO wasn't worth it. I buy everything online. Everything. Tell me where you can get a pair of KMW 1980 in Australia for AUD$195 shipped to your door (for those who don't know, context sale just past)? Can you even get KMW or a natural indigo equivalent in Australia? Go into General Pants and take a look at their Levis 501 selvage that they sell for $250, and then look at cultism and get a pair of LVC47 for AUD$187 shipped to Australia.

I don't know anyone who sells 45rpm in Aus, and please correct me if I'm wrong (other sydneysiders here), but I don't think there is a single Australian brand that can even come close to it.

  4. I think it's the nature of the streaky denim. It might be too irregular to cut into a slimmer silohette (could be wrong). You could always size down. I think these ones look slimmer than the Et868, or that could just be me.

Burgus, I think are the same mob that make Oni denim (which would mean they are the one's who also made the Oni Shoai?)

  5. Wow, so similar yet so different. I'm liking these more and more. If there are any pairs left in about 2 weeks I'm going to cop. That's it. Buh bye AI-N. It's been nice thinking about you, but 21oz wins, and it's winter right now in AUS. ;)

  6. I would say size down one. They look fine but I think the 710's look better tight rather than regular fit.

The fit's not bad, but I agree with mikesduc. Could have sized down one. For a slim straight like the 710 (as opposed to the 510) it's just a touch too loose after post soak, and the jeans will stretch. These are photos of the fit on my 710s post soak and uncomfortably tight as they were, have stretched out further than my Imperial Dukes.

  7. I always wonder where jeans like those have spent the last 70 years...

Probably in a box, in the back of a department store that couldn't sell them because size 42 waists were a rarity back in the days before X-box 360s and Oprah. After several decades, the department store probably went into liquidation and the goods were auctioned off in huge clothing lots. A small business probably picked them up, trying to buy clothing in bulk to turn them around for quick profit. After experiencing the same problem the department store had with W42 jeans, they were probably dumped on a church charity where it probably spent the next decade sitting folded on a wooden sales table, where it was displayed for the Sunday markets. When no one bought them then, they were probably given away to a thrift store who probably had them under a pile of other assorted denims before an enterprising ebayer discovered them, knew exactly what he was buying and put it up for sale on ebay for $9500.

Or it could be a 90 year old guy who used to have a waist 42 inches, who bought these jeans in bulk when he was in his twenties, thinking he could resell them in his 90's for 10000% profit.:D

  8. and yeah 1 more thing indigo junkie.. size down 1 i repeat size down 1 people who are getting this pair pls size down 1 people !!!!!!!!!!

Do you mean size down one only because they are too small (as opposed to sizing down two), or size down one because regular waist is too big?

Post soak pics, please? You and I have similar dimensions, Edmond.:o

+ rep for the piccies you've got up already.

  9. That denim looks almost streaky. Doesn't look like the 19ozers at all. Fk me, they look good. Daaaaaaamn. Have to wait at least two weeks before I have the money for these... Curse you PBJ XX-007 for looking so damn tasty! Curse you Samurai for putting these jeans out 1 month early! <runs off to cry in a corner>

  10. I'm really starting to like that fade on looser fit jeans. You can actually make out where the thighs sit on the jeans through the fade. Looks awesome. I don't own enough regular fit jeans.

  11. more pictures fade!!!!!!

Man, you and your pictures, Edmond :D . You better post a shit load when you get yours. And I'll need all the convincing I can get. Because if I get these 21ozers then it's buh buh any chance of getting the AI-N.:(

  12. I only wear blue jeans, but I've seen the Imperial blacks in person, and they looked pretty black to me (no blue in it). I don't know about the photos taken of the black ones, but in real life, the black colour seems true. Anyway, Imperials are a good brand (I have the indigo Dukes). You shouldn't have any probs with them.

  13. they have done ALL of us a huge service just by starting the store, and unlike self-edge, they have respect for the brands they carry, not just selling pirated jap repros.

if i could get a pair of wranglers that were better than the samurai wrangleresque repros, i would. some people are assholes...you my friend are a whole ass:mad:

A huge service maybe in getting the different brands in, but in customer service compared to SE? SE has free worldwide express mail and I can do all the communicating with them via email. International phone calls to NY from AUS is expensive, that and shipping on top. It adds up.

And what are you talking about pirated Jap repros? What about the SExIH? What about all the work Kiya's done in collaborating with companies like SC? Plus I like repros.

    So who's the ass?

  14. I just got an email from BIG saying that the 21oz measure 2" too small, meaning a tagged size 30W will shrink to 28.

THIS is why I don't do pre-purchases. I knew that 21oz is going to affect the cut of a 510 differently to a 15oz version. Hopefully fadeaway and Edmond will post fit pics of theirs when they come in.

  15. "Patronize Your Home-town Merchant-He's Your Neighbor."

Well distance wise, Japan is closer to Australia than NY. And the time difference is only an hour whereas the last time I called NY to order my jeans, it was 2am in the morning. I suppose that quote's more relevant to people in the US.

  16. Screw Levis, its a big (no pun intended) world out there, maybe they sould concentrate on making something of quality and less on trying to stop someone who does.

Because it's probably cheaper for them to sue these companies than it is for them to improve their own product. Whole other threads been written on the subject anyway.

Plus, I don't ever see Levis coming out with a 21oz jean in the near (or distant) future.

  17. I've purchased jeans from Selfedge and BiG and will probably do so in the future. But I'm also a badge-monkey, so yeah, branding really is important to me. Plus, like Edmond, since I don't live in the US, it's easier for me to get jeans direct from Japan. Faster too (Japanese EMS is faster than DHL from the US by at least a day and by four days versus global express).
