holy shit soepom. everything in this thread should be dedicated to you and your mom.
nah not true. just look at MoreFire's awesome post! ^^
i think we've got quite a couple of epicureans here. i love how the thread has grown.
ps. the word "epicurean" always makes me think of "pedicure". which then makes me think of toe-jam. which then isn't quite so appetising...

ah! so you decided to buy the black one afterall! also, if you like the deer head, you might want to check out harry allen's work.

yep, where it says "lunch/dinner at home", it's prepared by my mum (:
thanks, i'll convey your praises to her.
lunch at home (clearing out festive odds and ends again)
supper and shisha with whizkit, defiance, mis, chrisj, sidneylo and tweeds
(i was superhungry, so i ate most of it myself... *sheepish* )

yes, it's only a dress and flats.
but that wasn't a pedestrian outfit to me. and i'm glad that someone thought it nice enough to rep/ put it in the thread. it's an affirmation that subtlety doesn't go unnoticed.
or perhaps he really was vagina-beastin. fuck.

christmas eve dinner at home with the extended family:
mum whipped up an impressively creative meal
pumpkin gelatin with shellfish
momotomato (new and improved! stuffed with raw salmon salsa)
rice balls stuffed with crab meat and roe
suckling pig (this was the best I've ever had. mum ordered the suckling pig from the roast shop, and improved on it with some secret technique so that the skin is uberkrispy)
turkey. the most boring of the dishes, but a festive must-have. nevertheless the whole family voted in favour of the suckling pig replacing the turkey in future christmases.
this was also the first time we had three log cakes for christmas eve dinner. tsk. lack of coordination/communication between the family. all three were delightfully tasty though.

for someone so short, and presumably lower centre of gravity, i have a really poor sense of balance - couldn't get both feet on the plank and stay on it
is there a thread discussing how to tie the laces on dress shoes so they don't look like they were done by a 4 year old?

laces like unruly children - don't sit properly and are all over the place.

Pretty fucking jealous. Fuck that guy.
maybe you should! i know i did!

whizkit - that open face sandwich with avocado looks damn good! smuggle one back for me in your suitcase!
are these on soft pretzel buns? They look fantastic...they called them lagun buns...and yes, they're good. i almost like the bread more than the patty!
really wanna rep you soepom('s mum), but can'tjust rep me. i'll convert into a verbal praise and pass it on to her.
lunch at home:
my favourite dish was the steamed egg custard. just the right consistency and so so smoooooth.
a bite at work:
was doing a gig tonight and they happened to have an extra portion of this which wasn't served to the guests - lobsterrrrrrrrr
real food (and music) at the jazz bar:
oxtail stew and beer

dismalfuture: i've checked out mcdonalds across several countries and the prices vary fairly drastically. eg. it's cheaper in bangkok than in singapore which is cheaper than in stockholm.
lunch at home today:
crayfish spaghetti, with my mum's new experiment momo-tomato (tomato made to resemble a peach, chilled, and drizzled with a dressing made from 7 different sauces)
dinner at work:
foie gras with quince paste on rocket salad (latest discovery on the menu i thought i could memorise. i am so going to spend my food allowance on this again)
oosh mini beef burgers
bbq porkribs with potato wedges

im using an O2 xphone II, and the only way i could figure out note taking was to use the "tasks" function... i can't believe there's so much. and i don't remember inputting most of it. fuck.

singapore design festival 2007, This Is Utterubbish exhibition
photos by tweedlesinpink
one of the central themes to the exhibition was "[to] highlight the role and direction design plays in creating a sustainable future", and coincidentally enough, my ensemble comprised mostly pre-owned items, of various vintages:
vintage smocked pleated top (mum bought in tokyo nearly 30 years ago)
hand-me-down trussardi belt (aunt clearing out her wardrobe)
m)phosis shorts
fred perry bag (bought 2nd hand)
tangerine pointy flats

i quite enjoyed the experience of exploring the exhibition.

yep this mcD talk is intriguing and i'd agree:
as crillz said, it's really about balance, cliche as it might sound.
and like a few of you have mentioned, it's true, mcD's varies from country to country. i sometimes find myself wandering into a mcD when I'm in a new place, just to compare the different prices, and what is unique to the local menu. it's like a common denominator. i guage the cost of living based on the price of an extra value meal.
kpnv you speak the truth.
(and my favourite fastfood is MOS burger too)
it's strange, even my mum for all her cooking skills, enjoys eating the occasional fastfood. i know for a fact she loves the all-batter-no-real-food stuff at long john silvers.
anyways.
lunch at home today:
i didn't actually eat this, but i must have been to at least thirty weddings by now, and this is definitely the prettiest wedding cake i've seen:
i did however, take a bite out of the gingerbread village in the hotel lobby:
okay okay... i lie. the display is preserved and stuff, but there are bowls placed amidst the display filled with edible (at least i hope so...) cookies and candy.

shared it with my family. that's a lot of fries, even for a big eater like me.
it might seem like an epicurean blasphemy, but i like mcdonald's. it's more than just some fastfood junk to me. there's a good deal of sentimentality attached to eating there. i'd eat it anyday.

what are you eating today?
