Nice one Salaami!
Those could have benefitted from the extra oz in competition jeans!
You need to think about the next denim you're going to vandalise...

This has propably been here many times but it's a good movie and a turningpoint in my life (before my mother bought me clothes and I was perfectly happy VS. after my mother bought me clothes and I wasn't always too happy about it)
p.s. my mother hasn't bought me clothes for a while...

Does anyone know why it is only the 5010 and 5507 models that make it Stateside? I am curious about their other models but I never hear about them.
I think it's simply the demand... You can always get the model you want from the source.

with all that said, mad respect for the repair job, i love how you taped em' up and kept sewing
There was something "Hemingwayish" in the whole setting, those cats observing as a man quietly goes through the denim one stitch at a time...
Really weird disintegration of cotton thread if you ask me.

I used to wear them daily for work a few years back, and i found that even with regular waxing the leather started to go after about three years - by which point the soles were at the end of their life as well. Though i am pretty heavy on soles generally
I still have UK made docs that are going strong after about 20 years. They started producing them in China in the 90's and thats when the quality went to shit.

don't know about sizing - but my sister wore those on a backpack trip to alaska and came back with frost bite. the brown pair is dope though.
Ouch, sorry to hear that. Though, I'm betting the boots were too small to add sufficient insulation.

Anybody knows who is making these Merrell Wilderness boots (in Italy)?
How is the sizing?

been looking at dis outlier jawn
seems to be similar or better than goretex, but i haven't any experience with their tech materials, anyone?
For what I know they are two totally different techniques where gore-tex is a separate layer in the garment and this other is a treatment of some kind (that will eventually wear off with washing).

I saw this backpack recently and thought it was quite nice. If only it was available outside Japan...

^^ If you're talking about those RW's, my suggestion would be to take half size bigger than their boots.
Those Gokeys are awesome and no doubt they will outlast Quoddy 6 - 0!

Those M100's from Fracap are real nice. Reminds me of an crosscountry skiing boots.
If only they were available to us gaijins...

That Jensen pack looks mighty fine!

^^ Two inches, thats like four sizes too big! I usually have some 1/4" room in my boots and just a tiny bit more in trekking boots.
