i have a pair of 28 californias...they are skin tight....i think they fit better than hobokens
Calis are not skin tight. They are tapered but quite loose.

The honeycombs look right compared to the wear on the rest of the jeans. I wouldn't starch, because if you do your honeycombs will look over defined compared to the rest of the wear on the jeans.
Indeed.
I will post pics from my Edwins here sometime. I got them in April or May, and starched alot and all. After two weeks I was working on this skate competition in one stand putting up completes and after first day I noticed that the griptape had eaten my jeans! I have some serious whiskering in my inner thighs and knee area (I was sitting cross legged in couch while assembling...). Well, maybe you shouldn't do that with heavily starched dry/unwashed jeans on... Now I've been using them constructing two sauna buildings, skating and stuff. Really abusing them.
Starch is ok maybe once so that the creases will form quickly but I won't use it after that anymore (could as well sandpaper... )

I've been doing some construction work with my Edwins on (after I messed them up building skateboards). Carrying heavy stuff and crawling in the ground. Never washed, but already holes and shit. Been skating with them too and thats hard for the back pockets (being old lazy bastard like me).

I have Pace jeans. Superb quality compared to JR, Acne, Nudies or such... My personal favourite is the slim cut, P-006, very classic, can be worn skintight also.
element02, those are little bit like Straight Sven (cut I mean, nothing else).

Beautifull. Not as cool as these though...
Seems like raw too!

it's never too hot where i am for denim, so no, and all year long.
Well, but it's rarely so hot that you can wear shorts, so yes for me

Ok so we've all seen the great results in the 'evolution' thread.
Just wondering if anyone has any pics of Samurais, Nudies, APC, whatever floats your boat, but washed normally..... Like once a week?
Would be nice to see if only for comparison's sake (?)
Normally once a week? I wash my jeans normally once or twice in a year. I still have some prewashed nudies that are 5+ years old and never washed (ok, I haven't been wearing them for years, but still). If it's not raw, I usually buy them because they look good. If you wash them once a week, they will look different after one month...

Both pairs of Calis look great. What few worn Julian Reds are out there, they all turn out really nice. I love the front pockets on Julian Reds...they are angled down instead of going across, but I have found on mine, they are not very deep pockets.
Not very deep? My phone almost beats my knee when walking.

Tenderloins are quite nice. I have a pair of T-Rider C but their T-Rider BC is baggier fit. And they're made by japanese guys (who are maybe living in SF??)

At least your not rollerblading... Just kidding.
Think of just being fluid and having style. Some of the most inspirational skateboarding I've ever seen was just watching Mark Gonzales push around a parking lot doing fun little shit.
P.S. Learn to fall.
Amen. Gonzo is the man.

I would like to have a nice backpack that can hold a notebook. Not those normal geeky looking ones, something fresh...

I'm about to order those New Standards (after I saw them on Tragic Bliss, thank you!), but that sizing... I'm usually 29/30 (I wear them low), little bit over 6 feet tall (185cm) 150 pounds. I guess I'm a bit bigger than Tragic so 29" would be okay for me...?

My current favourite is Arc'teryx Fugitive (it's raining and pretty cold here). I don't like logos or prints so I have two Dunderdon S18, grey and black.

Looks like some marks on my new (raw) Edwins after I assembled truck and wheels on my skate, which was on my lap...
I guess that I'm not going to do it with few days old raw denim jeans on anymore!

I usually soak the new raw denim in about 40C (104F) for one hour just to get rid of the starch. Then I wear for few days and spray starch on my front pockets, behind the knees (and do the sitting thing with movie... and ankles.
I have two Pace jeans (japanese denim) , one Nudie and I just got Edwin jeans that were raw.
I have also plenty of Nudie jeans that have some used wash (Nudies are quite cheap here) and I must say that they stretch alot...

Hello, a newbie question. Did you soak your jeans when you first got them? Mine feel like armor after two days

Why don't you soak them and wear them while they are wet/damp? Just don't squat too much unless you want "knee bags".
Buying that small jeans is gay
