  1. Late night arcuate project on ethanol fumes...

    0105C_arcs.jpg

I did first the upper line then removed the stencil and added the one below (otherwise those would have been too close to each other). The color is bronze, I got inspired by our national epos "Kalevala" (I was going to make them with green).

  2. ''straight outta customs, a crazy motherfucker named moykky...'' ha! i find it interesting how some of these bleed, and some dont. up to this point if someone asked me if the bleed i would've answered 'no'. well, this changes that. moykky where are you? im not familiar with the language on the newspaper. im stuck in slavetown USA @the moment. don't you just love the color of raw FCs? im african, and they're blacker than me!:D i asked gordon what the official caste is on these bad boys, but the answer is pending. busy guy. i asked johnny, but he had never heard of 'caste'. go figure. hes a friend of my favorite cousin, so i wont bash. hes helpful.
I don't think moykky has gotten back to you on that, so allow me to inform you that the language is Finnish. Speaking of which, my jawns (33x39 0150) have been stuck in Ireland for the past couple of days according to USPS's tracking service (they shipped on the 28th). It only took one day for them to reach Ireland from New York, but now I guess they're arriving to Finland by the slowest piece of shit clunker that's sea-worthy. The irony is that I actually am British, but I happen to live in Finland now.

Help me brothers; the wait is getting unbearable.

Good work with the FC's Salaami, those arcs seem indestructable. You should patent your baking process and sell it to Evisu! :)

And yes, Finland, man of the north... I wore the jeans today and I must say, they stretch A LOT. I did sew the tab on, but haven't decided about the arcs.

srok, the sweeter they taste / feel...

  3. Thanks Salaami, that one was meant for you! I'm actually quite proud of my repairs. The latest you cant even tell when you look at the "right" side. I do them with at least two or three different shades of gray and always paraller to the vertical weave.

Status: Out of Foreign Customs :D

  4. ^^ Cotton threads all the way. 0105 and not a single thread left un-repaired!

    0105_repairs.jpg

By the way, the cotton patches used to strengthen are organic cotton patches used to rip body hair from womens places (with warmed beeswax/sugar. I bet it works for men too!). :D

  5. mcallistermizy, nice one! And I also figured out you're IRA! :D

Has anyone seen this yet? I was looking through the 660's contest jeans at BiG and came across this by Fullcount:

    http://blueingreensoho.com/site/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=5315&category_id=&manufacturer_id=34&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=28

Pretty amazing! I clicked on the last picture and thought it was a sweatshirt lined denim jacket.

Hehe, I actually thought first that what are you babbling, it IS denim jacket lined with a sweatshirt! :)

  6. nice 405s turntabloid, where'd you get the waxed laces?

i just received my replacements from alden they seem nicer than the other ones, but they arent waxed or anything.

It's very easy to wax them by yourself! Just buy some "solid" wax (beeswax, or something they use to wax clothing like Fjällräven or something you can get from there...), it costs about 5 - 10$ and will do the rest of your life. Rub it to laces, warm with hair dryer until it's absorbed, and maybe same over again. I've done it couple of times like this. Though, I've used cotton laces but it should work either way.

  7. Anyone know why did Gordon raise the price on the jean?

I see it like this: Those who showed their commitment early are rewarded. Same as if you're buying an apartment. You got it much cheaper if you pay before the new apartment building is even built. :)

  8. the 1050 shrinks to tagged size, but since the rise is higher and legs are much fuller you can probably downsize one compared to jeans you wear at your hips.

Yeah, I already own two pairs of 0105, 30 and 31 (my true size). 31 is so big I can't wear them around people... :)

I ordered size 29 as my contest jeans, which is sizing down two. I'm pretty certain that it's going to be a good decicion for me as I do not have too much "junk in the trunk" nor do I have thick thighs... Well see, no email yet.

  9. exactly moykky, you can choose a cut and one of the denims available and they'll make your choice of cut in that denim...

actually, you'll most likely have to do it this way, cause the models on their site are often sold out...

Thanks for the info! I've thought about getting a pair of '47's for some time and I'd like to have them in lighter denim as well. Seems I've found what I'm looking for... :)

Sendepause I like the fit, it has got a certain amount of good ol' grandfather in it!

  10. ^^^^

    yes, please measure them

I am just wondering will BiG drop the price back to 225 shipped? I got to this thread after pre-order period and the contest information was wiped in the first page. People should really tell me it's not a black jean when I asked. lol

The jean is def. black in BiG's website.

    They are genuine indigo black!

This is very problematic situation... I see...

  11. Hey, do I understand correctly that you can for example order the cut you like with your preferred denim? For example that '47 cut with 12.5oz denim (or what ever lighter denim there were to choose)?

Tiro, you seem to have great taste! What you going to be wearing? :)

  12. Mich & almostnice, thanks for the comments. This weekend i'll try to stretch the inseams a bit. It's mostly because I'm not used to wearing my jeans so short; usually have a cuff of almost 2" with my raw denim. How do you guys go about? just make them wet/moist and pull them with your hands or hang weights on them?

The weird part is that i'm not tall, only 171 cm's. In his mail Gordon explained that after full shrinkage jeans would end up around 32.5" so I thought that would leave me plenty of cuff but after just a machine wash on 40 degrees celsius, they shrank to a 31"! It's weird that everyone else didn't have as much shrinkage with the inseam

Step evenly on one hem, hands on the waist (of the jeans!) and pull hard. Do this couple of times on both legs. Best results when they're almost dripping wet. :)

edit: quick measure, my 0105 (13.7oz) has 91cm inseam when stretched. These has been washed two times already. Length supposed to be 86 cm...

  13. Personally I think regular fitting jeans should be worn short with a cuff, no stacking at all, over a boot. I don't think stacking with a cuff looks good at all. I think this is a much better look with looser fitting denims. Besides stacking and super long inseams is a bit retarded.

That is so. Every kid here is stacking their jeans and besides that, they're wearing skinny-cut jeans oversized so that they're not so skinny -that's retarded as well. :)

  14. weird, my pair isn't really 'leaking' any indigo; well almost nothing compared to my Skulls.

i need your opinion on my fit; I'm doubting if the inseam is too short or not. I initially asked for an inseam of 33-34" so I could cuff 2". Because of the production error I decided to get the 'short' edition. Gordon said they would shrink to a 32" but after my hot wash they ended up 31". Since i'd like to show off the selvage i'm wearing them with a cuff of 0.5-1" but they look definitely short now... i'l post some fit pictures later tonight

You can easily stretch some extra 1" - 2" when wet. I do this all the time on jeans with shorter inseam (34"). I've noticed that this also reduces knee bulging quite a bit... :)
