  1. Anyone with the Beatle Buster RAW want to share sizing experience with me? I really need a w35. Concerned the w34 will shrink too much and the w36 not enough??

Also is the leg opening on these around 8.5inches in this size??

And with me, please, my sz is w30. Thanks

My experience is to size down one if the thigh measurement allows it. They will stretch beyond raw measurement pretty fast.

  2. There are a lot of factors that are affecting the shrinking (actually the breaking and the re-bonding of the polymer chains in the microstructure of cotton fibres). Water temperature, it's hardness, agitation while in water, drying speed and temperature, etc...

But as b_f said, who cares as long as they shrink, we're happy -or unhappy :)

  3. ^so stoked to hear that T.... hopefully there will be no problem with German custom and i'll help you to drag 1-2 guys here (if i can).

hey moykky, this is my first contest too and doing it with the guys makes me even more nervous

Don't be, I'm sure you'll get used to it after a while! :P

Like mr. Brown said: "This is a male dominated contest...But it wouldn't be nothing, nothing without a levitating woman or a girl!"

  4. Prices are shipped to EU, but everywhere else is also negotiable... :)

Munson last, Vibram Newporter sole and additional leather lining on heel part of the shoe.

I've worn them once (and they're too large for me) so almost like new.

The picture was taken under a fluorescent lamp so the color is a little bit off, but you get the point.

  5. I actually had size 32 Fullcounts and these are 33 so hopefully it'll be fine :) Will post pictures when I get them this week!

I had a size 29 contest fullcounts and 710xx's (2006 model) in size 30 that were smaller in waist. I'm sure you'll be ok, though they won't be roomy upstairs no matter what size you get! :)

  6. Avoriaz is actually a proper trekking boot with relatively stiff sole -you could even use crampons if you'd like. At least in those models they sell in outdoor shops (if they differ from the oki-ni ones?). Other similar boots I've tried are for example Zamberlan Novolao, with upgraded sole construction

I like the "redwing" comfort of the Danner mtn lights, it's good for the everyday life. They're like sneakers. It's actually better for your feet as well -let the small muscles on your feet do the work. Unless you're carrying some 40kg backpack... :)

  7. Thought this might be the best place to ask- Is it possible to add a storm welt to a boot or shoe that does not currently have one?

I'm sure it can be done if the shoe has some kind of a welted construction. Though, I would imagine it could be very difficult -to the point that it's not worth it.

If you ask me, there is very little use for a storm welt other than aesthetics.

  8. Can someone tell me what's the different between 1001 and 2001?

    Thanks before

Denim fabric. Usually in Flathead jeans, the first number is the denim they've used and the last three numbers are the cut (x001, x005, etc.).

  9. What are you doing for your order, moykky?

I'm doing the 02 cut in #41 fabric. I wanted their heaviest denim for the winter. I'm really tempted to alter the back pocket spacing as well, 10 - 15 mm or so. How much did you do?

I have a pair of grey 02 that I used during the "warm" season and I really fell in love with the 02 cut. The other pair is 01 cut with #21 fabric.

  10. ^Moykky... I'm waiting for a reply too. Sent an Email

A week ago about a chore coat and haven't heard a word.

I'm happy to wait but wasn't sure I got the ema address right!?

Did you just email via the address on their website?

    Anyway fingers crossed.

They'll probably reply in 10minutes time now I've mentioned it ;)

    Thanks.

Ps. the Broken Twill looks awesome!

I got a reply today, they're just busy, I'm pretty sure you'll get email tomorrow! :)

  11. Lance, I've NEVER seen a broken twill like this. I'm surprised it isn't more popular because I doubt you'd ever find anything like this anywhere else, ever again. Heavy, super-slubby, natural weft. I'd recommend that anyone at least order a swatch to look at, even if it isn't to your taste. It's quite a curious fabric. Maybe I should be keeping my mouth shut about this. I think I may have found my staple jean.

I snipped the size tag out too. I don't completely understand it either. I know Ryo and Hiro are collectors of old documents and memorabilia, so perhaps they have an obscure reference for it somewhere. Questionable as it is, it's a cool thing to have and keep with the flasher.

moykky, a "sharp" ass is one that pokes out far :D Not a bad thing, but you'll usually see it in slighter people, not beasts like me.

Dan, I'll just have to wait and see. Broken twill seems to have easier stretch than traditional weaves. Now, this particular one is the stiffest, heaviest, and firmest I've ever seen...but Lance's experience with the stretch is hopeful.

I'll be doing a second hot soak, then I'll get some more photos up.

So, "sharp-ass" is like a "duck tail"? :D

I have a sample of 44 denim and to quote kung-fu panda I can vouch for it's awesomeness.

I'm waiting for a reply from Ooe, regarding a 02 customs. No reply and it's been a week now. It's almost killing me! :)

  12. I requested closer pockets because it's what works. Not kidding. I have what has been called a "sharp" ass...plus I'm a real brute. Wide pocket spreads are atrocious on me. Ryo and Hiro seemed hesitant to do bespoke work for a stranger, but they did it. And the pockets are perfect!

These arrived 1" under my order (waist). I think someone else had this happen to them as well. Is this a common thing? No worries...I threw in a wood block and hot-soaked. The jeans will be fine.

I didn't note pre-shrink length. I was too excited to soak them. I'm really, really sorry about that to any other fans of the broken twill.

Fit pics to come. Dry fit pics would be useless because they came undersized.

What is a "sharp ass"? :)

Cool, I didn't thought you could customize that much!?

no hate, but i've always wondered about that size tab under the backpocket. doesn't that bother people? i dont know about everyone else but i just found the tab positioning abit awkward since i've always imagined it to be something that was meant to be inside of the jeans.

I just cut it off. My first Ooe's have the tab inside, but the ones from 6 months ago had this...

  13. the mountain lights are great for every day, but i always skip them for this shit weather and wear a legit hiking boot. might not look as nice, but modern advances were made for a reason.

mine are the scarpa kailash gtx. i'll be wearing them with my halloween costume tonight.

    PEPSN.jpg

Absolutely right. I recently got me a pair of mountain lights and I was surprised that they're regarded as "trekking boots", since only thing they have common with trekking boots is the outer sole.

For a everyday use they're quite good though, like really heavy waterproof sneakers.

  14. the other way round i`d say...

I don't have the 666, but looking at the measurements the busters are tapered about 0.5" and 666 about 0.2 - 0.3.

I only know this because I was comparing them when I was buying! :)

  15. i think fitwise..the 666 is supposed to be more tapered, no?

Busters are more tapered, but 666 is more slim fitting with lower rise (still higher than 5010 I believe).

    More like 5010 = 666.
