  1. im thinking about the 21 denim and according to there ooe's stats the denim shrinks 2 inches in the waist but with a few people's jeans measuring 1 inch under tag it makes me a little worried

i could deal if a tagged 30 shrunk to 28 but if they measured 1 inch under tag that would be a different story

I have a pair from 21 denim and I can confirm it does shrink about two inches in the waist (well, size 28 will shrink less than 38, but anyways...). Maybe not in the first soak, but when you wash it hot in the machine.

  3. Thanks for all the info. I really don't own "comfortable" clothing. I have some running shorts and running leggings, but I don't know if that's what I'd want to wear.

    ...

I used to boulder in LVC 1937 that were about two sizes too big for me. :)

I can't remember if you're going to boulder or top ropeing but in bouldering any pants that you can squat without being hindered you're good to go. With harness you'd want something relatively fitted and lightweight fabric.

  4. Too right Max, I can't understand the obsession with tapering that some members of this board seem to have, especially when the cut is already slim.

And if you want something more tapered, there are plenty of options that doesn't involve sewing... :)

  5. beats:anticipating dirty weather (rain, mud, snow, salt)... Not using any waterproof coating or sprays to them, so hoping Obenauf's 'll do the trick. Just want to take better care of my boots... Oh: and God I love the smell of beewax in the morning...

You should apply it to the welt area as well. It'll be the most exposed to the said elements.

I really hate that they use the salt. It only works until -10 C anyways.

  6. can't cost that much i think...would daniel be able to do that btw.?

It's really easy, you could do it by yourself also. All you need is a small hammer and a 15 seconds of your time.

I've done this couple of times.

You put the tack (underpart) where the original was, put the top (button part) in place and turn it so that the button is facing a table (with a piece of plywood or such, so the actual table doesn't get scratched) and you tap gently to the tack with the hammer.

Uh, sounds... it's not that complicated anyways, google "attaching jeans buttons" and there's plenty of instructions. :)

  7. i'm having trouble getting the factory crease out of sleeves of my IH-527J. the crease is starting to "fade" which I dont really want. everytime i set the jacket down or hang it the sleeves fold along the lines. i've rinsed it 2x and wear it quite a bit but I cant get the sleeves to stop folding along the lines even w/ significant elbow/arm creases. any tricks? i put it on while still damp both rinses. thanks guys.

You could try to wash it in machine (no need for the detergent, inside out). That should have been done in the beginning, since once the creases set, they're hard to get rid of.
