  1. just got my hemmed bsps back and they fit a bit looser than when I sent them in.

I did an initial soak of "warm" water for about 30 minutes before I got them hemmed.

Think another 20 minutes will help?

Definitely. Hot wash on the machine will do even more.

  2. I figured what the hell and just took the plunge, ordered a dragonfly 2 from spyderco.com

lets hope all goes well with customs and ish, the youtube review on the dragonfly and robin wheeled me in... :o

A little late but eBay dude! You get them half the price there.

    You won't regret buying it!

  3. Hi, can somebody suggest the best way to buy some Kapital stones in the USA? I'm kind of lost. Sorry for being so dense.

You could use some proxy service like Sharpservice.jp or there can be even somebody in this thread that can help you... :)

  4. Yeah, Skulls are the best jeans ever!!!YAY. Wish they still made them....:(
    yeah i really want a pair of 5010 =/

They still make them? Skull site shows all the sizes at least...

And yeah, can't (easily) beat that skull 14.5oz denim...

  5. there's a local store that has it marked down to $50...

figured for $50, it would be decent for a pair of beaters... I almost killed myself a few times walking in the snow/ice with my RW875... I need something with proper tread

Actually RW sole is quite good on snow and ice (if anything but metal spikes is good on ice). It's not so the tread pattern or lack of it that makes the good traction but the rubber compound. If you want decent traction and treads get the softest of Vibram montagna soles (Roccia?) for example.

Those chinese DM soles have been pretty bad...

Greetings from the polar circle ;)

  6. I upgraded my pocket knife from Kershaw Chive to Spyderco Dragonfly with the G10 scales. I have to say I'm impressed. The quality and the finishing of the thing is like from a swiss watch! It's small enough for me to comfortably carry in every situation but has a big enough handle for my palm (compared to chive).

  7. i find that most patagonia/arc teryx/RAB/(insert-favorite-brand-here) works just as well if not better in a variety of conditions, and for a variety of activities, thus making brands like these my choice for winter bike wear.

    The end.

Same here, though I wear Haglöfs (it's in every shop here and suits my scandinavian figure better being longer and slimmer) but all the same.

  8. Oh no, conflicting suggestions! Thanks guys ;)

I wonder if its safe to go down half a size and EE. Damn i hate ordering shoes without trying them on.

    Is this of any help?

I'd go for half a size bigger, put Sole or Superfeet in them anyways. Theres nothing worst than too snug hiking boot. Once you've walked all day your feet start to swell and soon your toes start to hit the front of the boot... :(

  9. I was looking at the Vibram soles and they definitely don't look like they'll work well for the icy winter. What did you end up replacing the sole with, if you don't mind me asking?

I ended up putting the softest of the Vibrams montagna soles, #1036 Roccia if I remember correctly. I wanted to stay true to the boots. Ended up quite pleasing to the eye as well! I'll snap some pictures later... :)
