i like the back pocket. it feel a thumb my nose at you: "what arcuates?" just built into the design. though i feel like it would cause tears/holes there fairly quickly, but we'll see -

Haha! Nah. I get it. I grew up poor so unbranded clothing reminds me of the generic clothing of my youth. So I do prefer some branding. I do own some pherrows items and I like them a lot but I do want to check out something out of the usual. Maybe I will shoot for the deluxeware first. -

I’m not ready to pull the trigger yet but I’m looking at these 2, but have next to no knowledge of deluxeware. pherrows 421: https://item.rakuten.co.jp/earthmarket/421sw/ deluxeware dx5015: https://item.rakuten.co.jp/earthmarket/dx5015-new/ they both are similar fit. I kinda like the pherrows branding better but since I’m looking for a new pair for a new office job I’m about to start, something understated might make more sense. Though honestly I’m sure both might end up in my collection at some point -
Just realized that today marks 2 years since I got these and wow natural indigo is stubborn! Not exact 1873 SDA repro. You can see some minor fading in the crotch and it’s kinda cool how there’s some fading where the back pocket should be. Took em out of the dryer like 5 minutes ago, so they feel real clean. 5 or 6th wash I think.

I'm curious, from what everyone's seen, what brand has the sturdiest pockets? I'm thinkin of all the brands/pairs i've had over the years and i've always had issues with pocket blowouts. so i'm trying to think is this just something i have to deal with or are some better or tougher -
They look great! The only thing i think they missed the mark on is the blank back pockets. i was expecting to see a pizza shaped arc, like these old real mccoys from back in the day, to match the theme. Either way, nice write-up.

To answer my own question. These are definitely true to size. My cousin was in Tokyo last week so I asked her to grab me a 30, I assumed the 10oz denim would stretch. It did stretch but still very tight since I gained a little weight, so I’m closer to a 32 right now. I’m really liking this pair though, and I’ll see if I can drop a little weight to really enjoy them. Here are some bad pics and forgive the DIRTY shoes, they’re just so comfy

Does anyone know how the waist is on these? https://item.rakuten.co.jp/earthmarket/301wp/ I’ve looked at at a few different sites and the measurements have been inconsistent I’m currently a 31 waist so not sure if a 30 would be too tight, or if it’s a little oversized and I’ll be good

I guess that’s the best way to put it. Not a strict repro. I’m thinking like a slim straight. The tender 129 was catching my eye but I’m still looking. but I’m also looking at other styles too like the carpenter jeans that pherrow’s does look cool too. So I’m just spit balling ideas right now. But I don’t want another ‘66 repro. -
