  1. Personally I think "quality" is a trend. Maybe that's just because I don't care so much about quality. It doesn't give me a boner to think that my selvages were made on shuttle looms or by master craftsmen (although I do buy based on labor practices, I.E. NO SHOPPING AT GAP). I like the way selvage looks, and there is an attraction to it because it's the most authentic creation of jeans.

I think a lot of people say that they care about quality, but the truth is the reason they care about quality is because quality products generally look a lot better. People are selective about what trends and ideals they fit into, and right now, perceived quality and durability is the right market.

People say that some looks are "timeless." I believe that the "timeless" look is a trend.

  2. The starch just helps so that they still stay stiff even after washing (but they only stay stiff long enough to make some creases, not for more than one day or anything). Mine are pretty distressed because I wear them to the beach, bikeriding, dancing, everything. I do a lot of physical activity in them. With all that physical activity, it's a necessity to wash them :)

  3. I guess? I don't see anything wrong with it. It's pretty much the same thing as calling your friend and asking them if they know the girl, or whatever. Also, I didnt say "forgot the girls name/number," I said "forgot to GET the girls name/number." two different things :)

  4. It's been said here... probably 4,322,845 times that you can continuously get wear on jeans, no matter if they've been washed or not. You just accelerate the process and get more contrast if you don't wash them.

  5. Completely agree, but to be honest I can't stop using it. Go to a party, forget to get her number, maybe even her name. All you gotta do is go to the friend's profile who you know that knows her and spend a couple minutes looking through their friends list and there you have contact info. Just in case you want it.

  6. The JR Californias are a straight leg, a little bit skinnier than the APC Unisex. Mine were $230 or so I believe, but I had to pay someone extra to ship them to me from Sweden.

  7. Julian Red Jeans are a bitch to get in the US, but they're cool. Not sure if I mentioned earlier I have a pair of the 14.5oz California selvages. I ahvent started really breaking them in yet but the fit is cool. I talked to someone at HTC/Fred Segal and they said they'll check them out. The VICE Store in LA used to have them but they closed shop.

  8. Damn don't apologize for having a different opinion. I like both APCs and Nudies (yes, it's possible to like them both, they aren't arch-rivals). Different jeans for different situations and different styles. "For price and quality" is a very subjective statement - I would personally venture to say that Nudie jeans are higher quality than APC, despite the lack of a felled inseam. If you haven't actually seen the Dry Selvage denim, you're missing out.
