Thank you! They are indeed, CS 100X, it's been a real love/hate relationship haha. I get bored, decide they need a wash, it reignites my love, then I get bored again.

After 3 months of searching high and low for my next jacket, I finally settled on the Freewheelers 506XX 46-47. I had no qualms about sizing, thanks to the wealth of information available in the FW thread, and went with a 42. Upon arrival, I was dismayed at the fit. It felt huge ( no pre-wash fit pics, apologies😅) so I immediately threw it in the machine for a hot wash (heavy agitation) and dry, and it came out just about perfect in my opinion. According to my measurements there wasn't drastic shrinkage anywhere, but the fit feels like night and day, it's perfect now; I think I just have denim dysmorphia or something. This is without a doubt the nicest denim I own, it really puts my jeans to shame. It's so textured and lively, whereas the 3sixteen denim just looks flat and lifeless in comparison, I'm not sure if I'll be able to wear them together. I guess I may be in the market for a new pair of jeans soon.... Measurements taken with a sewing tape, garment laying flat, all pleats folded, not stretched. Note: I gave the sleeves a real good stretch before throwing it in the dryer, which could explain the lack of shrinkage compared to the body.

Stevenson, Sugar Cane, Barbour, 3sixteen, Georgia Boot. Probably could’ve ditched one of the jackets today, but I’m not ready to give up any layers just yet..

Denim Blunders, Reflections and General Nonsense.

I've been manipulated dammit! I had the same opinion on shirts - I was quite happy buying vintage Big Mac, Five Brother, and the like for $15-20 on eBay - but the more I scrolled the WAYWT thread this winter, the more the idea of a new, thick, Japanese made flannel tantalized me. I'd always denounced Iron Heart as comically expensive, though I had to admit their UHF made me curious. After finding one new with tags on eBay for "just" $175, I pulled the trigger. When it came in I was genuinely stunned at how beautiful it was, I immediately started checking stockists for sales and bought another the next day 😅 But, they are helping me make it through this particularly frigid winter with a bit less bulk under my jacket, so maybe the manipulation was a good thing. -

"The William B. Douglas party, including Navaho and Paiute Indians, celebrate their discovery of Rainbow Bridge, Utah, as they eat watermelon in Paiute Canyon, 1909. By Judd" Found this while browsing the photos in the national archives. Buddy on the far right is wearing a great outfit, he'd not look too out of place walking around in that today. Great examples of early Western wear all around. National Archives American West Photo Library

@beautiful_FrEaK You may have just put my credit in danger if I don't exercise some self control, but thank you!

SUPERDENIM SMALL QUESTIONS THREAD (Use instead of making new threads)

@AlientoyWorkmachine Thank you big time for all those, that Ooe Yofukuten looks absolutely stunning, it's devastating to hear they're so rare. I'm aware of the modified length Type 2's made by Sugar Cane, I stayed far away from those. As for my jacket, it's an SC15650 and the length measures about 23.75in @Double 0 Soul Appreciate the rec, but those are the measurements I'm going for post soak rather than raw. My SC jacket actually has very similar measurements, except I'm sitting at 23.75 body length and 18 shoulder width. -
@NilsLW Mepse has been on my radar for a few months, I wanted to get the repro of the 70s Black Corduroy Type 3 they did recently since I have an original, and the measurements on that were damn faithful. Unfortunately, I'd have to use a proxy to purchase from them, and I'm just not very familiar with the process. The superstitch is beautiful, great shape, but 450 euro is madness. Guess I'll have to do some research on proxies. Thanks!

SUPERDENIM SMALL QUESTIONS THREAD (Use instead of making new threads)
reubensangwich replied to minya's topic in superdenim
Any recs on a faithful Type 1 or 2 repro regarding fit? They're all too long in the body and too tight in the arms/shoulders. Currently wearing a Sugar Cane 1953 Type 2 in a 38 that I wish was an inch shorter in the body and an inch wider in the shoulders. -
Does anyone know who makes the most faithful reproduction Type 1 or 2 in terms of fit? Every single one seems too long for me (and, less importantly, too tight in the armhole). Legit vintage jackets max out at 23-24 inches in body length for the largest sizes (from what I've seen doing research), but when it comes to repros the smallest sizes start at this length. For reference I have a Levi's Premium Type 1 (size small) and a Sugar Cane 1953 Type 2 SC15650 (size 38) and they're both about an inch and a half too long for my liking.
