Is there another brand out there that makes denim similar to Resolutes 710? I really love the hairy fuzzy texture of the 710 and how stretchy they are. And how they fade of course. I just find the rise too low though and too slim in general. Prefer a high rise these days. I would need to size up to a 36 and then the waist would be too big.

Those Brando jeans are so freaking cool

Trying to dissuade myself from getting another pair of jeans by telling myself to keep up with wearing my 50s. Had these for 4 months worn for average 3 days a week. The 13.5 oz is definitely a welcome weight for the warmer weather.

Depending on the brand but I usually go for 42-43 cm across for the waist. I tried a 34 and 36 for the tcb 50. 34 was snug but would have stretched. The 36 fit more like fullcount0105 so went with that. Need a belt after a few days as they stretch but I'm fine with that and have grown (literally) to prefer using a belt than feeling too tight in the waist

The colour and fades on these are really great! I also found the back rise too long for me so I sold mine and sized up on some TCBs 50. The denim feels very similar (Zimbabwean cotton) and the rise is much shorter at the back. They also have a baggy version of the 50s coming out you might prefer. The denim is super comfortable

Got some FOB First time getting a pair of duck cotton pants and they feel light but sturdy - 11oz. So should be perfect for this time of year. Not sure what the shrinkage situation is with these but they are long enough for a double cuff and are a relaxed fit so I think I should be fine...any others with any experience with these? Bit of an impulse buy but I'm glad i did Update - washed at 40 air dried and no noticeable shrinkage. FOB also got back to me superfast on instagram and confirmed they are a one-wash so should not shrink much at all.

Looks good but I'd rather just get a used pair. Cheaper too

I thought the link you posted was really interesting about how they examined deadstock 501xx and their results in trying to replicate. http://www.jelado.co.jp/manufacturing/?m=1000581 I know other brands examine old levis but Jelado's in depth blog about the process was really cool. At the moment Bears are out of a 34 in the 301xx so I will need to wait. Well it's between this and Sugar Cane 55z which is also out of 34. The arcuates are swaying it for me though with Jelado

Wondering what the consensus is on JELADO? I was looking at their Age of Longin 301XX and they look great. The pattern seems pretty spot on (not overly wide, with a high rise) and they also have arcuates which a lot of repro brands have decided either not to pursue or get rid of. Am I missing something here? I feel like these should be more popular? Are they 'big in Japan?'

Is the denim for the 47xx & 54xx 14oz after washing? I'm seeing conflicting info some sites saying 14oz unwashed others saying washed. Also does anyone have any recent photos how the fabric ages now it's been a few months?

I got some 1955s off Ebay made in US. Is this a Taylor Togs pair? I think 2013? Buttons are blank. I've snapped a few photos compared to my LVC 66s and TCB 50s. They are quite different measurement wise to TCBs. Longer front rise and more of a taper. These are more faded than they looked on ebay but thinking can still get my own fades on these despite the heavy wear/washes. 2nd last photo is compared to TCB

Maybe I've answered my own question but I've found two 501xx STF from 94 and 95. Luckily not in my size 😅 The denim raw looks really cool. Very different from my LVCs when raw. They seem thick, neppy and slightly fluffy which explains the fades I have on mine.

My favourite levis i own are some non-selvedge 501 stf 1995 made in US. I got them off Ebay dirt cheap and they are very faded with some paint splashes on them. I blew the knee out recently after trying to scrape some paint off which led to a small tear forming. Silly me. Comparing the fabric to a pair of 550 made in Mexico mid 2000s, the 501s (which are labeled xx on the patch) has a much more grainier, marbling texture. The denim feels thicker too. Were the 90s stf XX known to have this type of texture? Is the XX any different to non xx 501s? Seeing some earlier 80s pairs on here they don't seem to have the same texture. Unless it depends how they are washed and dried more than the actual fabric? The 550s seem much more flatter and uniform.
