  1. Ha yep UK. I'm really not too sure what make they were honestly but it was the one brand that I could get in Scotland that was wide enough. I would dye them black for school as they only had the light blue stonewash available. I was thinking for the scarf tshirt combo back in 2006 it was a indie band thing. Great times. Though not great fashion times...
  2. I was 14 in 2000 and I was all about the widest jeans possible. I think the photo is roughly then. Seeing kids these day with the same jeans feels truly bizarre. 2004-5 though I was all about basketball jerseys, timberland boots but jeans were definitely more a regular fit though probably a touch wide compared to today. I wore a raw GAP type 3 denim jacket for a lot of my university days and still have it. Has some great fades. For some reason mid 2000s I wore very tight tshirts and chunky scarfs. No idea why I thought I looked cool. Definitely did not. Trainers were always converse or Jordan 1s. Outside of the GAP jacket I wore a green addidas tracksuit jacket a lot.
  3. I've got some Mizuno's out for delivery right now that I'm thinking might be more 2000s than I had realised. I'm starting to settle into the 'comfort at all costs dad type' and I'm concerned there may be no way back
  4. Is there any info or does anyone know why LVC make the 66 a much brighter blue that previous 501s? I read a really interesting article (probably linked from here) about magnadraft during the 60s and 70s that creates by accident a more slubby fabric. But for the dye i can't seem to see much info. Looking at Acorn and their big e collection a lot of the jeans look identical (to my untrained eye) to the indigo of the 50s and 40s. I've screenshot a few photos. Also a photo of very blue LVC 66s. Are LVC just trying to differentiate models for selling purposes or is this actually what the jeans were like?
  5. Tucked or untucked I can never decide M&S, TCB 50s, Clarks
  6. Happy with how these have shrunk. Washed at 40, low spin. Great weather for drying jeans too. Waist has shrunk 2 inches. Inseam 3 inches. The denim is a vibrant blue which I was expecting with the 60s. But it's also quite neppy which I wasn't expecting so chuffed about that. Might put a reddit post up with all the measurement photos at some point.
  7. 66s have arrived from Bears today. Will shrink them in the wash this weekend. I was worried the rise might be a tad to short but they are measuring 12 inch FR and 16 inch BR for 36 size so think will be fine. Waist is big and hopefully will shrink 2 inches but prefer to have them a bit loose and wear a belt anyway. Liking the wee extras with these. Probably will use that tote bag a lot. Impressed so far
  8. Pretty disappointed in NB. These have lasted about 8 months and I've worn them roughly 3 times a week prob less in the winter. Are the made in UK/US more robust? Shame as they are so comfortable. I have a pair of Mizuno running shoes I ran a marathon in and are still my gym shoes despite being 6 years old. Still not falling apart...
  9. Really love the denim on these 47s. Very soft and stretchy. Kind of the opposite to what I was expecting from cones 40s type fabric but maybe that's my misconception. Could also be because they are well worn. Reminds me of the resolute 714s I had. I have some LVC 66 japan made arriving soon so will be nice to compare.
  10. You think Warehouse and Denime are the most closest to old levis? What makes you say that?

  12. Ah I see that's great thanks for the info!
  13. So is there a way to find out if the denim is made fully in Togs? Also I take it these aren't cone or was the white oak label added later to jeans?
  14. Cheers! So they would have made the buttons?
  15. Just picked these up from Ebay for a really good price considering made in USA. Thanks @Maynard Friedman for the date check. I was hoping these used 47s would scratch the itch for me wanting to buy some 66s but I'm not too sure they are a tad too slim which I was thinking might be the case. Still these are really nice and will be good to have some LVC made in USA for my jeans. Blank button though so I'm unsure of the factory?
  16. I don't have much experience with LVC tags but does the below seem to say that these were made in 2006? It says Fall 06... Also I assume these are a 47 cut as says 47501 but then i was confused by the 1.17 after it. also made in usa but levis address in europe?
  17. @NilsLW great that's helpful. I've already got some 50s TCB and Denime so was looking at the 60s for a bit more versatility. As versatile as another pair of indigos are lol
  18. Thanks @NilsLW! What about the waist did they shrink the 5cm as Bears is saying? Also is the denim quite stretchy?
  19. I guess regardless of the cut does 5 cm shrinkage in the waist and 8 cm in lenght sound about accurate for STF 501s LVC?
  20. Hello! Looking for some advice. Bears have restocked and now have a size 34 in the Levis 66 cut. Wondering if others have any experience with shrinking these made in Japan LVC? The waist is suppose to shrink 5 cm and lenght 8 cm. Does that sound about right? Also does the rise shrink much? Raw for a 34 is showing as front rise 11.5 inches and 15.3 inches back rise. I wouldn't want them to shrink much in the rise really. Also hem is just over 8 inches. Does this change much too? I'm quite used to looser cuts now so wondering if I should size up to a 36 instead. I know the 66 is supposed to be a slimmer cut but don't think I could go back to slim tapered again. I love the look of the fabric though and miss having arcurates on back pockets so thought I'd give these a try.
