@julian-wolf you’re absolutely right, sorry about that. I reacted out of emotion rather than reason (also just realized that my analogy is off a bit). This was a great thread idea- hopefully certain people either take pics of their fancy masks and post here, or just stay away from this thread and let the rest of us enjoy it.

Imagine wearing a mask for something with a 99.8 survival rate for people under 40 lulz
Imagine wearing a seat belt when most of us don’t die in car crashes. Seriously, not wearing a mask doesn’t make you smart or a free thinker, it makes you selfish and ignorant. My best friend is 38, and was hospitalized with pneumonia due to Covid-19. Two members of my family were also hospitalized with it. All of them are in red states, where no one respects the severity of the pandemic and wears masks, social distances, etc.

^I agree, that makes this a fun thread. It’s nice trying to make the best of things in ways like this. Not surprised that it got derailed for a minute there, but hopefully the flat-earth level silliness is over.

@aho I really like that mask. Where did you get it?

I picked this up from Standard and Strange this afternoon, and wore it for a few hours. I like it a lot. The outer layer is polyamide, and while I don’t actually know what that is, I can say that it’s more comfortable when it’s hot and I’m sweating than my all cotton masks. I’ll probably get the blue one as well.

Butter bean wallet purchased off of Etsy about 4 years ago. I ran it through washer accidentally once, and a lot of the patina came off(I didn’t know that was possible) It’s been close to a year since, and it’s mostly come back. This isn’t anything like the Flathead wallets that I’ve drooled over for some time, but I like this wallet. It was $20 well spent. Here it is today vs when it was new.

After getting reassurance on sizing from @julian-wolf and @JDelage I decided to pull the trigger on an extra heavy flannel ($210 shipped from Withered Fig). I’m really pleased with it, I’d go as far as to say UES are my new favorite flannels based on just this one. I bought a large, one size up from my usual medium, and the fit is perfect, though about 2ish centimeters longer than I prefer. It’s not a problem, and I’ll likely tuck it in most of the time anyway. The photos don’t do the colors justice. It’s also really hefty. I once owned an iron heart ultra heavy flannel (maroon and cream block check), and this flannel feels just as thick and warm to me, if there’s a difference, I can’t tell. The brushed interior is soft, and make this thing pajama comfortable.

I appreciate that. It does look more forgiving than Flat Head shirts.1 -
I’m on the fence about getting a UES flannel, but based on most fit pics, it looks like they are narrow in the torso like most Flat Head shirts, and I’m trying to move away from too slim. Is this the case with their shirts?

Once in awhile I’ll get a compliment on something I’m wearing, from a stranger. I love chatting a bit with them about whichever brand it is, and hope I’ve convinced the person to try them out.2 -

Sonny Rollins turned 90 today. I feel like we’re all lucky to live alongside this giant. I don’t have a vinyl pic or YouTube link here, I’m just grateful for him, and hope some of you all listen to some of his tunes tonight :)

Thank you! Is this size chart accurate, or would you recommend sizing up from tts?

@volvo240thebest Is it still possible to get that Caturday shirt? I didn’t see it on TCB’s website.

@roomtemplacroix yes they are, and thank you! The fit definitely isn’t for everyone, they’re pretty wide legged, but they a very comfortable.

Pandemic Masks
in superdenim

Railcar has some pretty neat masks that are reasonably priced (for fancy masks anyway). I ordered the wabash one a couple days ago, and ordered the indigo denim one this morning. I’ll post some pics/thoughts when they arrive.
