  1. Not counting the afore mentioned chariot races, the first Olympic sensation I remember was Mark Spitz the swimmer who won seven golds at the 1972 Olympics.
  2. ^^^Good to know. I'll look into that.
  3. ^^^For us the problem is not the increased usage, rather that our system can't handle big current draws without turning on the generator. During the day, sun on the panels will handle most things, but from twilight on it's a different story...
  4. Being in an off-grid situation we're on propane. Like KOTH Hank's barbeque except it's a 500 gallon tank. Used to be affordable. Now it costs a f'in fortune. I've been curious about induction cookers. I suspect they're a big current draw which is problematic for us.
  5. I think charcoal devoutees look down their noses at gas barbecuing. I only know this because the King Of The Hill cartoon show.
  6. Still torqued about the two Sestertius I lost on the bloke that got trampled early on.
  7. Unless it's a Toyota, according to a video I just watched...
  8. I never learned the proper way to sew buttonholes by hand but it's easy enough to loop stitch enough upholstery (heavy duty) thread around the hole to secure it for the foreseeable future.
  9. I guess it's a yahoo page I'm looking at. I can't figure out how to email them.
  10. Has anyone ordered directly from the Japanese store American Clothing Cream? I'm trying to get an item before the end of the month when the $800 import exemption ends.
  11. On a little music tour, me and a drummer, staying in houses of folks involved with organizing the concerts. Meanwhile at home our valley is on fire again (The Gifford Fire), it's only been about a month since the last one. The fire crews are getting a lot of work this year...
  12. I've always used scissors. If you have access to a small pair you can get it close to invisible.
  13. $325 but that's imported to the US. I would think somewhat less if you can order directly from Japan.
