  1. so I am guessing that he has tried to remove the care tags then which you can only do so much and should be some remains of, and I'm guessing he would not want to show me the jeans inside out..

  2. you can still find plenty or worn in examples if you fancy a bargain.. with that many pairs I have no I don't mind if someone else has put in some work before me, as long as the fades are decent, no phone fades etc. I also saw these what the sellers says he bought 30 years ago and appear to be 1947 originals. pretty boring fade though. washed far too much likely. but exactly the kind of pair Kurt Cobain might have thrifted in the 80s. always wore 501s.

  3. Been looking to see if anyone has any  LVC 1976 fades..

mine have only amassed 94 wears since January 2020, I do like these jeans, but I devoted more time to other pairs, mainly my 1955s. I have just started to concentrate more on them now my 55s have reached their first wash.
I remember reading that the 1976’s were sulphur dyed and this made them fade faster. This pair already has some decent baby whiskering and honeycombs.

I am going to wash them maybe at around 120 days, for a more “vintage fade”, maybe go for some train tracks.

I just washed my 1955's. when they get 2 weeks of post wash wear I will show the fades. I wanted to wear my 1920 Sunset Shirt for a job interview but because of some very slight shrinkage in my 1955's, the shirt no longer works with those jeans, it just does a complete muffin top when I tuck it in. (skinny man problems).

So I was forced to break out my Lee "50's Rider" 101z as they are a very boxy very high waisted fit which works well with the shirt.

one question... does the 1920 Sunset shirt shrink too? I think I will wash it cold..

  5. @Rehnen1, if you want your legs to look like matchsticks, stick with what you have got. if you like the way they fit now before soaking, you will NOT like them when they shrink. the 1947's don't mess about! they turn into skinny jeans if you don't size up enough.

Long shot, but figured if possible, this was the place to ask...!

Any chance anyone can identify which model of 501s Brad Pitt has been wearing? I’m thinking 67 or 77 given the taper but unsure.

    Any insight would be appreciated!

    thanks

they look like 1966's from the back. thin long pockets.

anyone know what shoes he's wearing? and the shirt while we're on...

  7. The last photo? A pair of “premium quality” 501s I bought a few years ago right before I got my first LVC jeans.

they have a leather patch, big E and other assorted vintage details, no selvage and prewashed though

  8. Yeah, I seem to recall they were most similar to the 1955s..

here are the modern buttons, more sharply defined and not so bold, with extra stars. Kind of what the 76 was going for but better done maybe. My favourite still is the 55s, they were knocking it out of the park in the 50s.

Its strange, i tried looking at vintage 70s Levi’s on ebay and I can’t seem to find the same button design. As for the stars, all the levis buttons have stars, not sure of you mean the little dotty bits.  76s have a sort of plasticky feel. The 55s are my favourite, they have sort of a gun metal look almost.
the 1947s are second, very bold and substantial feeling.
