  1. Here in Texas it's been hot for months and denim has been folded up in closet but I heard it cry out for the great outdoors so I put up on clothes line and...it rained cats and dogs for days - good cold rain water - as you can see I'm not much of a fader but I love denim like ya'll. I'm wearing a pair of thrifted Levi's. Blue denim and pink shoes.

  2. ^ @Foxy2 I ordered a size 33 and it is currently measuring 17.25 inches across - based on that I could have gone with a size 32 - the inseam is 31 1/4

(I really enjoy them because they're the kind of jeans that don't take themselves too seriously - they're fun to wear - happy light comfy easy breezy)

They've been through the washer and drier I think - tbh they're being put to work

  3. Hey Good People of this forum @Duke Mantee @Broark notably: on this 1927 jean jacket mentioned lately: I don't presently own any FW: do you size up if you're between sizes?  I'm roughly 179 cm tall weigh 75 kg (size 32/33 in jeans) normal (broad shoulders) and I've measured all my jackets etc and fall between 38,40.  Just if you wouldn't mind giving me your two cents please on this. Duke you're 179 tall is that right I read that somewhere what size would you position yourself at?

  4.  @Double 0 SoulShoes are the only real way to show off fashion as a dude we look pretty ridiculous unless we are dressed like Alain Delon - agree with the critique of the hipster uniform @Duodequinquagesimus but you shouldn't put down an aging hipster like me who need some mf and ooe to impress himself.  Now on the shoes.....well....they're handmade by a cobbler in a mexican village and he's been plying his trade for 50 years for the likes of Richard Burton etc. A tiny unassuming storefront. I'll pass the love along to him when I see him.

Sounds like what you would want from a pair like this! Looking forward to see some pics! :)

Ok here are some pics. These jeans were not readily available Pantshop.jp helped me get them. I purchased them wayyyyyy back in january of 2020....thinking of the hot summers here in Texas...I'm not a shorts type of guy. Anyhoo they are an 8 ounze denim with the buckle in back.... . Took me a minute to figure out how best to wear these. I think the rolled up works - this is not a fancy denim. Girlfriend hates buckle backs (oops) I mean h a t e s. We are still together, however. Peace out ya'll and thanks Jdelage i think it was you who advised me how to purchase these in the first place. (don't know how to copy and paste user names that's how dim I am). Wearing these with pink vans from last years MrPorter blow out sale and a Billy Reid linen shirt from a while back.

Did you get them? What do you think? :)

They're really fun light easy to wear here in Austin. 8 Ounce I think super light weight. My gf says I look like a farmer in them. Perfect. I'll post a pic soon I guess I should...

Just to clarify on this, I confirm that the fit pics were taken with a new sample, made with the finalized cut.
I would appreciate everybody to stop speculate about rise too high/small jackets too long/short. Let's wait and see the sizing charts.
The product is now finalized, our community's constructive inputs were listened, but at the end of the day Hajime has his vision which must be respected. He does what he likes and sometimes - as I've already said many times in the past - what he likes it's not always exactly what our niche geek market wants. This is something I love about Hajime and Tcb, it speaks volumes about his integrity. Also, on the subject of jacket length and rises, the feedback he gets from Japan it's different.

It's 100% impossible to make everyone happy, that's why there are other repro brands that make rises higher/jackets shorter etc etc.

I love the jacket length. The rise of the jeans look perfect. I'm 52 years old 179cm 75 kg I could probably be your dad - shut up now and order you're wasting precious braincells.

@Geeman the waist on the 50s slims is definitely oversized quite a bit, I think to account for the fact that you’re wearing them on your hips, instead of your true waist. I encouraged my dad to size down one from his true waist and they fit him very comfortably. There is a fair bit of give in the 50s denim, but that rise is always going to feel restrictive, I reckon...

As for baker pants @BionicEye, having owned both Stan Rays and orSlows, I’d say the latter are well worth the jump in price. The fabric, fit, puckering, all just lovely on the orSlows; the Stan Rays felt a bit flung together and have a slightly unpleasant sheen when new, then become pretty flat and dull after lots of washes. I bought the Stan Rays in the hope they would scratch the itch. Ended up buying the orSlows as well and giving the Stan Rays away. Live and learn...

Would love to see a fit pic of your dad he and I may well be the same age and I've been thinking about buying the 50's slim...

  9. Just came upon this awesome thread. Spent my Sunday am crawling up the famed creeks of central Texas with a bottle of Mezcal....a friend imports this and needed a promo shot...so there we were...my jeans with someone else's fades  (Levis made in the USA from maybe late 70's found in a used clothing store.) Yes i got to keep the bottle. If you are a Mezcal sipper apparently this is the top of the pops. It's not the sort of drink you have while it's daylight fair warning.
