Does anyone know of a quality sherpa denim jacket...?

I really dig this jacket. Whale cord on the outside and sherpa on the inside. Doesn't get much better than this imo

edit: well, it's not denim but still a nice jacket

  2. Makes sense. I remember seeing garments which were labeled under a different brand but had all the details of the TCB brand. Even used the same "international world jeans" copper buttons.

I'd still like to see a proper Lee repro jacket made by Inue

  3. Imo there's something profoundly wrong with the business model of a company if customers are waiting more than a year for basic items like jeans. If you can't handle the present volume of orders don't accept any new ones. Let them join a waiting list if they are willing to wait for your items. Yes, you'll lose some customers who will take their business elsewhere, but collecting as much money from customers as possible and then let them play the waiting-game is pretty dubious.

I bought a second 1976 501 36x34 which differs slightly to my first one. Tight is 0.8 cm narrower and hem 0.5 cm. Waist and inseam are the same.

Wow, almost 1cm discrepancy in the same size is a helluva lot if you ask me. Shame on you, Levi's quality control.

  5. Badass jacket. But I bet you'll have to answer a ton of questions about the time you (never) spent in the Navy if you're wearing this.

You could totally wear this in Austria tho. People may only take you for someone with a weird fetish for Asia.

Awesome - thanks for the additional help! I think given how it fits on you, your explanation, and your measurements I think I’ll roll the dice and try a M. I’ve been meaning to lose a little bit of weight anyway and what’s a better excuse than a new jacket and the new year!

No problem :-) Let me know how it works out for you

Oh, man... that makes it even more difficult! I feel like maybe I should go with a M because I would rather it be a bit small than too large and oversized!

If you’re a 39” chest and 165lbs how would you say the M fits? Is it oversized, just right, snug?

Thanks for all the help by the way!

A pic is worth a thousand words, so here we go ;-)

I think it fits me best with a sweater or heavy flannel. A little loose with just a t-shirt. I wish they made a M-Long because I could use an extra inch or two in sleeve length. But regardless of that, it's really a great timeless jacket that you can dress up or down and works with everything. Plus, Robert DeNiro wore one in Taxi Driver, one of my favorite movies ever made. That's reasons enough for me to own one.

Nope, won't be wearing it with a liner.  I measured my chest and I'm about 41" so if you're 39" and 165lbs I think the L may work ok since I'm a bit larger than you.  With that being said, I don't really want an oversized fit and will only wear a flannel underneath at most.

Looking through History Preservation and a bunch of Rakuten listings is very confusing as everyone's measurements are a bit different!  History Preservation would seem to recommend a M but most of the Rakuten listings look like a L would work based on their measurements.

Would you mind measuring yours pit-to-pit?  I need ~22.5" pit-to-pit based on another jacket I own and measured so curious to see how yours compares.

    Thanks for the help!

Sure, will post some measurements tomorrow!

Anyone own the M-65 jacket with some fit pics and height/weight info they could share?  I'm looking to purchase one but a bit unsure of sizing.  For reference I'm 5'10" and ~180lbs and thinking I would need a L.

    Thanks in advance!

How do you intend to wear it? with a liner? The jacket is quite roomy and you may get away with a medium unless you want to wear many layers underneath. I have a size Medium and I'm 6ft 2 and 165lbs. 39in chest. Fits really nice, just a little short on me (wish they would make tall sizes). The jacket is excellent btw.

And the 32 60s felt much smaller than the 32 50s at the waist. I’m thinking this is cause they hit lower on the hips where it’s much wider. The 50s hit above the hip bones closer to the natural waist.

Yup, that's it. I went by my natural waist size alone and ordered size 32. At that time I was pretty new to ordering jeans online and didn't factor in how the rise of a jean influences waist sizing. If I sized correctly (i.e. sized up to 34) I would have been fine and the jeans would be a classic mid-rise.

@Outdoorsman, I have a pair of raw BNWT 50s for sale in size 32 that measure 34 waist if you're interested.

@Maynard Friedman I'll measure a bunch of my jeans in the evening and do a little bit more research before I make a definitive decision but I'll keep your pair in mind.

  12. Very tempted by the 50s right now. I'm a 32-33 in most jeans but a little concerned about TCB sizing. I bought a 60s in size 32 once but it felt two sizes too small. And I didn't like the super low rise. Should I get a size 32 in the 50s jean? Measurements on paper look good

Thanks! Nice purchase!  Would love to see some pics or even fit pics of them.

I'm 6'1 with a kind of slim body as well. Chest measures 105 cm (41"). But I want the sweatshirt to be more a "normal" fit.

I did an order on warehouse website on this Thursday. 42 on the sweatshirt and 40 on shirt. But the sweatshirt were out of stock so have asked if the 404 in 42 is available instead. Hope so and I hope those sizes will be good for me.

@Rehnen1No worries, you got the sizing right. I'm 6ft 2 and I own the same work shirt (lot 3076) in the chambray fabric. Size is 40 and it fits very well. Sleeves are long enough for taller guys. I got the lot 453 sweatshirt in size 40 and I wish I sized up. Shrank quite a bit and fits too small for me now. I think a size 42 would have been perfect. So you're good :-)
