Any chance you can share images of your nomin? Very interested to see how it looks.
oh shoot, I should have thought some people would want to know what a beat nomin looks like. I dropped it off at my bird store for repairs yesterday. I'm asking in case they can't repair it.
like, the urethane face is mostly worn off on the bottom corners and whatnot. I really abused it.
if they can't fix it, I'd be happy to send some over.

In need of a new bag, my old nomin is getting pretty beat.
so...
OL (Outlier) Ultrahigh Quadzip vs OL Ultrahigh Rolltop vs New AV Nomin

They were going to discontinue Arc'Teryx Veilance.
nice one.
I think you mean they're gonna stop buying Arc'Teryx Veilance
Veilance is bigger than ever

^ I mean they're boots - should be a bit stiffer than the Trainers. I've been on the road in the Field 6" for the past month and can find almost 0 fault. Exactly what I've been wanting for a while, and no precious-ness.
Of course, if they were primarily for approach / mountaineering purposes, I'd go another direction. Am finding the versatility and aesthetic pretty unbeatable tho.
How's the waterproofing on these boots? thinking of giving them a go this winter

I'm on a trip to Germany and picked up this season's Vonoroi AR just before leaving, it's been about two weeks, and about 8-10 wearings, and there is already some pilling in the groin. I'm going to take them back to my local bird store when I get home and try to return them. Disappointed.
I've never had an issue like this with Arc before, does anyone know if I am even able to return them?

I think the best option is to try the pieces on before buying.
I know there aren't many Veilance dealers around, but, in my experience, they are very helpful and easygoing with returns via mail

I know underwear has been our hot topic for a while, but what about socks? Especially Summer-ey no-show/odor resistant socks (to keep my shoes from smelling like ass)

Is silver nanoparticle technology just a fad then?
Or only really necessary if you're planning on wearing the same underwear for a week?
(I know some military services use it for their undergarments)
Where can I get this?

To put in my 2 cents on the underwear game
I've been wearing Saxx for about two years. They have a little pocket for your package, which is actually super comfortable and good at keeping you balls from sticking to your legs.
but really hold their scent...

I'm thinking of picking up a jacket for an upcoming month-long trip to the southern hemisphere where it will be the beginning of the warmer months. I own a partition but can't seem to keep the shorter and lighter jackets apart.
can someone point me to the veilance jacket that can be my only hardshell piece for this trip? it needs to be a shorter jacket and have a hood. thank you veilance braintrust
I feel like this trip is exactly what the conduct anorak from SS17 was made for. It packs up nice and small, very light, not too long, with a surprisingly good hood. And the side zip works absolutely great for venting, better than pit zips IMO.
Only real drawback is that the styling doesn't really work in more formal settings...

@brainerd666 Well...
I mean...
...I really can't disagree with you
tbh this is so off topic I'll just PM you

TBH the country of manufacture isn't too much of a concern for me. Sure, I found it nice that this stuff was made here, but it shouldn't change the quality of the construction at all.
Plus, it may mean that Arc is planning a new semi covert project out of that factory
Or they are just ramping up total production and want to keep the "Made in Canada" on the more expensive jackets (which more people are likely to buy)

Went to my local bird store and tried on a bunch of stuff
HAEDN jacket is cut kinda weird, really boxy, tbh not my thing. Fabric seems SUPER cozy
I feel like the HAEDN overshirt is the better choice. I still don't think either is worth the price tag.
Operand is a must for me, looks and feels INCREDIBLE (it just got this sheen to it)
Anode fits me PERFECTLY, well articulated in the thighs for my big rower legs. (sorry? calves? who needs those?) also super cozy, but they wouldn't do well in rain, so I just would almost never use them.
the Field pants are also very well articulated, but they look a little too Hikercore for me.
Like most insulated jackets, the Feild IS makes me feel like a marshmallow. I've always preferred mid-layers and a shell
Has anyone tried this season's indisce pants? they didn't have any in stock.
Thanks guys!

Looks like this season is a little more fashion-ey than acronym has been in the past
those pants look very SISP

It's been so hot recently though; I'm really looking forward to F/W when I can actually use most of my gear. I really need to find more summer-friendly options.
How are them wildfires working out for you guys? Although, we apparently have our own out in central WA that were started by cats + power-lines (RIP).
Or just send like a really big fan, that would totally work
I think this city could really go for some of that rain we get all Winter
All in all, Thank you climate change

Unfortunately, that is very unlikely
LOT's Instagram is pretty in line with the stylizing we have already seen
A quick Google search leads me to multiple more articles describing LOT as such things as "a Goth Birchbox"
as well as a.. less than active subreddit
this apparently is the website of the creator: Vadik Marmeladov
Unfortunately, it does seem that everything will only be black
so either this is the actual aesthetic
OR, this is Wintermute in the flesh
This is a very different KIND of Techwear
LOT is not about water resistance or articulation, at least I don't think it is, but it is another beast.
In the second article above, the creator says:
“What we see in fashion now is just the same shit they were doing hundreds of years. Fashion thinks if they start to use technology, it won’t be as beautiful or as deep or as luxury. Actually, it will be so much better, so much more luxury, so much more beautiful.”
The very basis of LOT's aesthetic is technological. I think that Marmeladov is moving towards fashion as a literal product of technology: AI designed fashion.
This is only the start
Now I need to make a choice: ACR FW18 or LOT

UNIQLO Airism. Don't know if they sell it outside of Asia (it's a summer only product here).
As for the LOT talk, I do not have enough 3rd world pennies to subscribe to it, but please let us know how it goes.
It would be 10/10 if even this first encounter is already an example of the brand tailoring itself.
i.e. Somebody with very different demographics, seeing a LOT site that sells brightly colored basics, gardening tools, and a packet of chia seeds.
Now that
IS what I am talking about!
