My Libra Pondus have arrived. The story of the order is full of unusual details. The packaging in Japanese paper and metal box to store and protect the kimono is unique in itself. Not to mention that Isamu san's blog features quotes from Schopenhauer and Goethe... 🙃

I haven't been following this thread for a while, so I'm not up to speed with what you guys have been up to... WTF are those???!!!

I really want a pair of flat head jeans but it looks like only Franklin and Poe stockpiles in the US. How come there aren’t any other retailers who carry any jeans?

Iron Shop Provisions in LA. Private and Co in Canada. Rivet and Hide in UK. Redcast Heritage in Spain.

What model are you looking for?

  3. I have to admit, I admire the guy for his determination and vision to create his brand and store, and the brands he collabs with. I'm sure he's an interesting fella that I'd probably get along with if he were my neighbor. But, I f'g hate just about everything about his brand aesthetic. When I first found his brand and looked at some of the collabs, I thought they looked pretty good. But after seeing some of his stunts and relentless bot-email campaign, I'd never spend a dime on his stuff.

This is the last I'll deter SuFu with... C'mon, f'g really???!!! He drug his POS vintage bike to the PNW to ride through the forest on a back-road in the rain? And then blather in his blog about how brutal the conditions were? Just to have an existential experience to sell his brand? Really...???!!! You have to read the blog post too (which is almost illegible due to the font color).

  6. I agree about Lofgren's being extremely difficult to get on. I, too, have the Devil's Causeway and it's a real struggle to get them on. Once on, they're comfortable. But I can't wear them if I'll be walking and/or standing a lot. A heel that tall hurts my feet badly.

  7. I'm on the fence about the short shaft height. It's practical, and easier to get on. A 9" - 11" typical shaft looks cool in pics when not being worn. But for the most part unless you're shoveling coal into a furnace in the engine room on a locomotive, there's not much practical reason.

    😁

  8. I'm still quite upset that I sold my 3 pairs of Roy's that were too small. I'm more upset that when I got them I preferred a tighter, slimmer fit, and now my tastes have changed. I now prefer a more relaxed fit for comfort and mobility. I don't get nostalgic about stuff. I've bought and sold many pairs of jeans and shirts over the years that haven't worked out for me. The Roy's are the only pairs that have any sentimental value for me.

If he ever releases something new with a collab with Baisu, I'll certainly consider. I'd expect the price to be very high.

  9. On my 3009, which I sized up and are possibly the best fitting jeans I've ever worn, the pockets openings are so small and cut so high to the waist band that I can barely fit my hand in them. The pocket bags are very shallow, and are made of thin material. I dream of Roy's heavy canvas pocket bags, how they were cut and stitched.

My RJBxR&H RFR-004 pocket openings are slightly better than the 3009, but not by much. The pocket bags are of a rather thin material and do not feel durable. Luckily since the pocket openings are nearly useless, I don't put many things in them that may wear them out.

As amazing as TFH is in most regards, their pocket openings and pockets bags leave a lot to be desired.

  10. @Cold Summer great pics & posts, Kyle. Thanks!

I know I'm a TFH fan boy, but they're goods are really in a league of their own.

But... the front pockets on their jeans are the absolute worst. Literally unusable.
