I had a pair of 36*34 in cart for the 1971 Golden Ticket but decided against buying. So there's 34in length jeans being produced. The US and EU websites differ in stocked length for the 1966 Harajuku release. US seems to stock the longer lengths but I don't remember seeing 36in length ones for both releases.

I think L34 is usually the longest leg available in Japan.

So LVC has become like every other limited edition hype-driven item and its bought by resellers to flip and make a profit.

Good luck to that ebayer, but I can't imagine anyone paying that much for them.

According to End Clothing's website the UK price will be £240. Watch out entering End Clothing's draw if you want a leg length longer than 34 as they do not usually stock L36. https://www.endclothing.com/en-de/features/levis-cone-mill-501-golden-ticket-jean-register-now-on-end-launches

Well it has got 11 watchers! I haven't bothered to log in to get more info but I suppose somebody in the USA who was prepared to pay $500 for them but missed out when they sold out there could be prepared pay substantially more than they were on sale for.

These “1971” jeans look like 1976’s to me. Thats a 1976 patch. I thought the 1971 were the same as the 1966, the only difference being the small E tag?

I wouldn't expect them to be as furry as the 1976s - also the fit is slimmer without the jodhpur effect. Quite tempted by these. Not too fussed about where they were put together as long as the quality is good. Bulgarian 1966s in Japanese denim were on the small side. Cone 1966s were more generous. Any body know what Turkish Cones fit like?

  5. Here are raw pairs of the same versions all W34 L36 except the Valencia Street version on the left which is L38. The 2003 version is in the middle and the Bulgarian is on the right.

  6. Three incarnations of the 1937 vintage. The top is Valencia Street made in 10 1997, W36 L 38, the middle is 643M F3 03 W36 L36 and the bottom is made in Bulgaria W34 L36.

If you still have the bits can you not just refit it and hammer the end to keep it in place? I don't have any rivets I'm afraid.

I would if I had the bits but I have only got 1 male and no female bits. Waiting to hear back from Cinch. They either came off in the washing machine or when I was stretching them out before wearing them after they had dried in the airing cupboard. Bizarre!

I just hammered the rivets on these 1933s as they were pulling threads on a throw I have on my sofa! They came out pretty well. I already removed the suspender buttons and may chop off the cinch soon too...

Have you got any spare rivets? My Bulgarian 1937s have just shed 2 of them from the right front pocket!

those new bulg 1955 pictures are courtesy of a nice chap from the Australian Levi's website. I ended on there by accident. anyway they have this cool "chat to a stylist" feature where you can ask questions. so I asked them if they were going to be getting some new photos on the site because all the pictures are still showing the Cones.. and we like to see what we are buying, right?

so he tells me he just got in a pair of the new 55s and he sends me this massive PNG file which was too big to put on imagebam (hence the screenshots at different zoom levels)..

by the way.. when shrinking jeans is it best to have them un cuffed, or cuffed? I sit in the bath with them uncuffed, but with the 76's I cuffed them to not get indigo all over the carpet. I don't know if that had any factor in how they shrank.

I buy them small enough to wear unshrunk then wash carefully (cold and lukewarm) in the washing machine before increasing gradually to 40C or 50C. Seldom bothered otherwise with baths, soaking etc but cuff them in the bath.

Who wants to see the new Bulgarian 1955s?

So what is the tally now:

    1 pair of 1976s

    1 pair of 1955s and

    1 pair of 1947s?

I am liking the Bulgarian 1937s. The size 32 is mega tight on putting on after washing but loosens up and as its winter I am putting size 34 on top. I also like the Bulgarian 1966s. Size 32 unwashed is snug but I am hoping will loosen up before washing, but no sign yet of loosening up after occasional wear. I have never been caught out by being unable to wear after washing even Size 31 in 1933 and 1955.

Bulgarian 1966s Size 34 are quite loose but not loose enough to wear size 32 underneath. I have had to brush the size 34s to get mud off and they are beginning to get hairy and loosen up. I have got dozens of Cone 1947s and 1955s  including Valencia Street, but if the Bulgarian 1966s turn out nicely might be tempted.

My large stock of heavier 15.0, 15.5 and 21 oz Fullcounts and 21/23 and 25 oz Ironhearts are out of favour at present, but I occasionally wear my Levis 519 stretch and Replay Ronas Selvedge stretch for that skinny leg look. In hot weather my Fullcount 1904 shorts will come out.

Shirtwise, my nicely faded 14oz Studio d'Artisan shirt needs to go to Denim Doctor to have the collar repaired, but I don't want to part with it (have 3 spares). I keep on having to replace the Mother of Pearl buttons. I can't stop wearing my one Piece of Rock 14 oz caps.

Jackets I love my type I Fullcount but the cotton threads are wearing on the inside. I have 1 spare and 2 type IIs. I wear my non LVC but old Levis fleecy Trucker in winter on top and have a number of Levis Types I, II and III worn and unworn.

Just had 2 pairs of rigid Cone Mills made in the USA raw 1966s size W32 L36 delivered expecting that I would get V2.

I had 2 pairs of 1937 V2s delivered yesterday and the 1966s are a more generous fit in that size to the 1966s.

I love the Cone Mills denim which seems similar to the 1947s I bought about 5 years ago.

Having said that, I love the new ?Kaihara denim of the 1937s and they have been expertly put together in Bulgaria.

The price rises don't seem to affected the UK LS website, unlike Cultizm.

I can't upload pics - there was a problem processing the uploaded file. -200. Anybody know why?

    IMG_20190904_1342416.jpg

The expert putting together in Bulgaria did not apply to a pair of Bulgarian 1966s which I got from Levis in October for full price but which I didn't wear until Christmas. A problem emerged with one of the seams near the yoke (not enough denim had been folded over and they frayed after washing). By this time the Sale was on but all the 34 36s had gone. I was able to get the last pair in that size which American Classics had at full price and yesterday received Levi's full price refund.

I saw a 1947 deadstock pair w30 L34 on Grailed. Are they yours? Cones. I was tempted but they are a largeish w30 and i might be better off with a w29. My true waist is 29 inches.

    I’m also looking for a pair of 1966s, ideally in a w29 l34.

I think the jeans from American Graffiti are 1966s, looking at the arcuates.

And possibly LVC fans blew their wad of cash to get ahold of the final White Oak denim so are now stocked up for a few years.

But I think the warnings are there for a slowing economy as you suggest.

Or lack of interest in a fickle market.

@Paul T has been quiet while all this speculation about the reason for Levis' 40% discount on much of their UK LVC lines has been going on....Perhaps all but a few select vintages are going to be abandoned? The promotion finishes on 26 January.
