I always assumed that CO in the inner label stood for Cone. While the size, date, year, model and factory are clear, what do the other figures mean?

I like the colour, pocket shape and distance between the pocket stitching on these. The patch on my 0499 555s below shriveled which put me off them and I never got far with my 643Ms so I haven't got any faded 1944s.

Impressive collection of 44! My size too if you ever need to shift a pair
Thanks. Not planning on shifting any at the moment - maybe if I stop working and need extra cash! There are 8 554s (3 x 34 36, 2 x 36 36 and 3 x 38 36) and 1 555 (36 38). The rest are 643M with stripey pockets. The denim is all a bit different even when from the same source.

It is mate. I purchased the size 34's and also a pair of 34's in the 44 model (the only other raw jean made there, for the one season, apart from the 506 jacket).
It was apparently the last Levis owned factory before the shift to the Taylor toggs facility in NC.
I've only seen about 6 items deadstock from that factory production run in 7 years. Yahoo auctions maybe?
(I can help with any details if unsure, lemme know)
How do you identify San Antonio's? I seem to recall that 524 was El Paso in the the 1990s. Not sure where 553, 643M or R come from. I have got some 1944s with colored pockets I the trouble with 1944s being that the inside of the pocket always showed.

Um, label says £70....
Hmmm. There were 2 pairs. One was certainly £10. May be this was the other pair as I'm not sure that the pair in the pic are the Natural Indigo pair.

The trouble is there is loads of 'Valencia' made goodies on the web to buy but no one is buying them at that price. I was lucky enough insomuch as l sold a shed load of 555 Lvc circa 2009/10, some to a guy privately (maybe half a dozen pieces or so) for like 400 quid + a pop! I couldn't believe my luck. Not seen anything actually sell for that price yet and l watch alot of DS 555 stuff with similar BIN prices but nothing moves.
To me the 555 stuff was worth the initial £200 price tag as it was so unique, even more so when it came down to 100 quid per item in 1999, but l wouldn't pay more for an older item now. And dont get me started on the modern pricing for current stock - yeesh!
I think I saw some LVC Cone which went for about £150 on EBay, recently. Can't remember the details.

If you could sell all those at £300 a pop that’d be £60k - a nice little earner Rodney!
Or more, lol: https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?sid=cccheng1982&isRefine=true&_pgn=1

If, indeed! I have never sold any jeans but I gave away some non-selvedge 505s 1979 vintage to a friend as they were far too small a few years ago. He has now worn them into the ground.

I'm not a fan of natural indigo, but I couldn't resist a £10 bargain at the Flagship Regent Street Store a number of years back! I'll have to do a proper stocktake but there must be 190 to 200 pairs of BNWT LVC (1890, 1901, 1922, 1933, 1937, 1944, 1954, 1955, 1966 and 1967) in my stockroom, probably 95% Cone. I'll have to start a shop some day!

US-made Cone Levi’s are now £330 at Aeroleather. They are charging £170 for the Bulgarian/Turkish-made pairs using Japanese denim.
There are some Cone Levis, L34 still available in Japan. If you factor in the proxy service fee, shipping charges and UK import/Vat charges, Aeroleather's prices compare.

Man, that’s like 24oz of denim - I can’t believe it would be comfortable ...
Actually, as they are 14oz it is 28 oz! They are perfectly comfortable and keep me warm sitting all day at my desk.

For the past month I have been wearing my rigid 505 W32s over my rigid 505 W30s. I've had the larger pair since 24 November and the smaller pair since mid December.
Denim on denim creates nice wearing fades and the electric blue is starting to show on the smaller pair.
The outer pair have been subjected to quite heavy wear including roofing and carrying straw bales which are always good for thigh fades. In the meantime the outline of the surplus pocket material is starting to show through.
Neither pair have been washed yet. The W30s were very tight at the hips for a couple of weeks but have eased off.

Check out these 1944 555s I got.. I made the mistake of thinking they were originally raw and that the 32W 34L after quite a lot of washing would be a good fit for me.
they have to be a prewash though because they are BAGGY.. you can still see the screen printed arcs on the edges a bit. Patch gone, and no dark blue underneath.. another possible tell tale that these were sanforised.
Not sure what I will do with them, maybe take them in, keep them as they are, maybe for denim for any future patching requirements. The crotch could use some attention, it has previously been fixed.. I don’t know if the baggy grunge look is growing on me maybe..
Somehow, to my eyes the silver threaded label does not match the denim which looks similar to that on my made in Bulgaria 1937s attached. I have never been a fan of 1944s but will dig out some from around 2000 to compare. Do you think the label could have been swapped? The top button doesn't look right to me, either

@srudy I decided to try and get them to work for me. Didn't want the hassle of tracking down another 201xx for a decent price.
They stretched out an inch in the waist, and also in the seat and thigh. I was really surprised by that. Fit me great now.
Cheers!
That was to be expected and the right decision.

The yokes on the later versions of Turkey made 505s are 1/2 inch lower than the earlier Turkey made versions. Personally, I like low yokes. It also happened on the Taylor Togs 501s. The difference are in the pics on W32 L34s and W30 L34. It has taken a couple of weeks of wearing for the higher yoke size 30s to stretch out. The lower yoke size 30s arrived from Japan yesterday and they will be a struggle. However the lower yoke oily denim W32s stretched enormously with wear so fingers crossed for the W30s.

nice collection dry, I guess what you are referring to is what some people here call the marble effect, which occurs from leaving the jeans on the outside while being washed, parts, such as whisker grades that are expsosed to the tumble wall fade more because from the mechanical stress. I love this, especially in combination with a nice hight contrast fade, a double pattern if you will.
It was really the feel of oiliness I was referring to, i.e. something in the texture rather than appearance, though it does result in a sheen which looks and fades nicely. The 1967 505s in the pic are a month old and yet to be washed. I always assumed that some cotton was naturally oily, but most isn't.

Having been recently smitten with an LVC 1967 505 bug, I have noticed that the denim on some of them seems particularly oily, if you know what I mean. I like this. There are some oily examples in the pics below, 505s, early 1955s W36 (the W34s were not oily), 1979 501s, 1980 517s which were particularly oily and faded to an unusual grey, some Ironheart UHRs (634 and 1955) some Ironheart 25 oz and some Fullcount 1101XXs.
