you'll lose half an inch in the waist on soaking them, but you'll find they'll stretch out an inch+ from that point with wear. i have a fabric sample of this denim and it is really nice stuff - the fades will be alot bluer than the regular line you can see on these pages as the indigo is much more vibrant.

I'm not a fan of phone fades either so I alternate the pockets I put stuff in. this has also for the most part avoided any pocket blowouts and ensures every pocket gets some nice wear

if your n&f's measure 31 across the top then i'd go for whatever measures 30 (as they'll stretch an inch or more after wear) - just compare the thigh measurements though as that'll be what screws you. follow ande's measuring guide & you'll be fine.

for someone with 5'9" & 133lbs, which size should i take for cobra?

kind of a hard question. try measuring a pair of your jeans & go from there.

one year anniversary of my Cobra's. worn pretty much every day, with 2 washes along the way. colour is pretty accurate - love these things. they're due a repair in certain places, but i'm picking up a sewing machine this weekend to take care of that myself.

@ spudboyblues - geeman's response pretty much covers it. mine fit me just right pre-soak, and i lost an inch when soaking. naturally they were snug after but they stretch back so all good. if you're concerned buy the size that measures half an inch bigger than your current (decent fitting) pair of jeans and that should do you right.

the Heavy Weight comp starts in April so your chances of getting much interest would be slim.

i have a fabric sample of the SR4, and if i didn't already have a pair of iron heart 555's in the cupboard i'd get myself a pair. the indigo is an awesome shade, and the weight is just right.i think the fade on this fabric will show alot more blue than Ande's stock denim. it's still a pretty smooth denim, but it does have slight irregularities to it.

i'm going to hazard a guess & say it may be only a Thai/Indo thing. the info is on Darahkubiru and thats not a site that google translates too well. not sure on the set-up though - whether its OBC cuts in AW denim or vice versa, or something completely different. will keep my eyes peeled for more info

No not at all. It fit just right immediately. I've yet to try it with a sweater underneath as it's summer here now (will be 43 degrees Celsius tomorrow), but I don't see it being a problem.

^Hey Okisan how'd u size on the 555 in comparison to the 301s? U got the raw 18 oz i think, correct?

I have the 301s in a 31 and they fit awesome (though they were a bit tight in the thighs at first though)

i got a 31 in the 555-02, whereas my 301s are a 30. i'm not sure if that'd be the same for other folk, but my 301s had stretched in the waist to 32ish so got the 555-02 in something similar knowing i could stretch it back out after it soaked & shrank.

the two denims are very different though. the 21oz is quite a dark & smooth denim, whereas the 18oz raw has an inkier indigo look to it, & has more overall character to it - more texture. neither is better than the other, they're just different - but both awesome.

it'll stretch if it needs to, same as a pair of jeans.

the 301s has a taper on the outseam as well if i'm not mistaken. this accounts for the fact there's no visible selvage on the outseam, as the pattern just doesn't make this possible. i own both the 555 & the 301s and overall they are very similar.

i have a vague recollection seeing it stated somewhere that the vintage blue was achieved via a light bleaching process.
