***that's a true statement the 55's of the past few years are bigger than the old ones.
I think thats a myth of the new 55. The one's I got (2010 season 33" waist) were actual size and shrunk too much in the waist from a warm soak to below 32". Had to get rid of them as I couldn't do them up.

these look great jewellben. Is the stitching on the 44's lemon yellow? it's not on mine, and the colour of my unwashed 44s looks identical to my 47's. In the sun I can see no difference in the fabric at all.
Yes the stiching is yellow for the top stitch and gold for the bottom stitch

6 months of almost daily wear 1947. These have been soaked and through the washing machine maybe 4/5 times. (need a new camera)
check out the hole friction between my belt buckle and the top button have created (only spotted today)

1944 has slightly bigger thighs. I went TTS for these and one up for the 1947.
Both side by side '44 on the left (34" waist) '47 on the right (36" waist)

For me the 44's have much bigger thighs.
Should add that jewellben's 44's do look very similar to 47's in cut. They've been hot soaked?
Warm soaked - whilst wearing in the bath 12 months ago, I only wear these jeans as "best" so maybe 10 outings at the most. I picked up some 1947 in July which have been my go to jeans for the last 6 months. Post some snaps later.

I happen to have the 1944 on today - excuse the camera phone snap

How do you think the two cuts would compare if the 44s were a size smaller? For example, would a size 34 '44 be very close to a size 36 '47 (or bigger or smaller)?
I find the cuts very similar at the top of the leg and bum but the 44 taper ever so slightly from the knee down. I've got a 34" 1944 and a 36" 1947. I also think (this could be me) that the 1944 denim is thicker and darker too

other than myself that has picked up a pair of the 22s.
Talking of which - how are they breaking in Setterman?

If LVC become more acceessable then this is great news, as their website shows some great products which are hard to track down - however as long as its not blitzed on the market (I think of how nishe Diesel was 10+ years ago) it could be a good move. Its a shame about the Amsterdam staff and I just hope their artistic inspirations for the brand don't leave LVC in a hole.

Hi Maynard — I'm looking for a 36" waist raw that will shrink down to a 34-ish.
I'm after a 34 waist 38 Leg if they ever existed as I find the 36 inside leg measure shorter than tagged

I have a pair of 1955 Tagged 33 Waist - 36 Leg for sale £100 plus postage. These have been hot soaked only and come with all tags as new. They shrunk to 32 waist - 34 Leg and I can't get them on me post soak (fat git!). Some posts back you may have seen me panicing about the leg length before I soaked as they were 35.5 to start, but its the waist thats done me!!
PM me if your interested.

How slim are the fitting on a 67 505? They must be the only model I've not tried on, whats the closest fit/shape to them 44, 47 or 66?

Levi´s Vintage Clothing
1947 501 Rigid Jeans
Price - £60 excluding postage PM me for sale
Tagged Size: Waist 38†Leg 38â€
Actual Size: Waist 36" Leg 35.5"
Other Measurements:
Rise 16"
Calf 11"
Knee 9"
Hem 9"
These jeans have been worn and washed a few times to remove stiffness and shrinkage. Jeans are in perfect condition with no frayed hems and the colour is starting to fade (very simliar to the current Dry Scraped and One I love washed 1947) These are the perfect canvas for someone to break in and make their own - I've started to get some whisker creases in top by pockets . I'm selling as I've lost a load of weight and thy are now too big for me.

cheers for that update - they are very different!

Has anyone seen "The One I Love" 1947 or 1944 wash up close? Does anyone also know any online stockists of the 1944 version?

Got a pair of 36x36 1944's from 2010 season. Green pocket bags. Soaked once, worn lightly (office work, etc.) for just over a month. Finding the fit isn't quite right for me. I'll be posting in the market soon, but I thought I'd see if any of you want (or know someone that might), want them.
If only they were a 34 waist

Just pull the legs after each wash and you'll keep the shrinkage down to 2", no problem.
Tidy darts! Never done this despite many pairs

maybe LVC wasn't that happy? dunno...sale should last till October 18th. Just ask Dejan directly. He's a great guy!
I will do in AM
Tony at Hideout is awesome too if anyone wants LVC. He's only there Saturdays now according to someone who answered this week but sorted me some 1955 for £130 including postage:cool:

Ben, it was there yesterday morning (15% off all jeans brands) and then strangely absent by the evening. Did you get the 1955s from Hideout?
I did - got a 33 *36 but they measure 35 in the leg so I've not worn them or removed tags as I need at least 33 inch leg post wash/shrinkage I'm 6ft1".
They are 2010 model, does anyone know how much these will loose in the leg before I take the plunge?
I have a 2011 1947 36" leg and these are still cuffed after 3 machine washes
