back rise: 43 [edit - measured with tension]

did you take any pre wash measurements- i'm keen to see how these shrunk in the leg as they only have a 34 inch leg at the moment - your 32" are under 30" in length now. Cheers

  2. 1937 now available to purchase on the UK Levis site and Stylecreep - only up to a 34 inside leg atm which is only measuring 33" so a bit short for me.

    Measurements in a 34 x 34 from Stylecreep

Waist laid flat is 17”, Inside Leg is 33”, Thigh is approx 11”, Hem is approx 9” front rise is approx 12.5

    Hi,

Can Fullcount 1110 slim tapered be considered “High Rise”? It fits the bill on other things for me.

Yes these are high rise 15.5 inches at the rear. The thigh can be snug so I’d check this measurement too when sizing

Thanks for the kind words guys! I just realized it disnt upload the backside properly. Though theres not much honeycombs due to the frequent washing.

lvc definitely bring back the 37s ( you can spot them already on the levi´s webshop) but unfortunately no imbroved style, still they come button fly is oddly short button fly, a problem that many lvc jeans suffer from, on from the 1915s...

I can only see some 1937 cut off's

Is LVC adding the 1937 501 back to their lineup? You can see the sign in the background, and the tag next to the patch is like the one you find on the current run of jeans.

    I hope so

I've never known FC's to not rip on the thread, the 100% cotton threading isn't the strongest but damn they fade well

true but they shouldn't split at the crotch after a months wear either

Thanks for all the advice people....^^ this is what i'm leaning towards. Previously owning raw or selvedge denim, non LVCs...I haven't pre-soaked them and these 1955s have certainly given me a better idea of the level of shrinkage to expect (despite obviously reading up before hand)...still find it difficult to try on for size and then buy a size up confidently....what's your approach 428CJ? and if I wear them in for 6 months or whatever, will I still get the same amount of shrinkage after the first wash as I would if I washed them straight off the bat? any tips here would be great also!

if they are 55 they look a great fit IMO I take the same size as you but never got on with my 55 but may take another look having seen your pics.

  9. If anyone wants a pair of 1976 size 34 x 36 for £126 (excluding shipping) before I return them to Levis, DM me before Tuesday. I managed to get them with the 30% coupon so thought I'd offer them here with the discount before sending them back.

    Measured:

    Waist (pulled flat) 17.5"

    Leg - 36"

    Thigh - 12.5"

    Hem - 8.5"

Yes, perhaps that's the only way to shrink them. I poured boiling water over them and let them soak in it this morning for an hour (fresh boiling water every 15 minutes). Was hoping for some extra centimeters when I came home from work but they didn't shrink one additional millimeter. The length is borderline OK, though.

Put them on for a test stroll through the city. Never wore jeans with such a high rise. They end less than two fingers below my navel. I reached to get something from the sidepockets but there were no pockets. The pockets were much higher, near my navel. The cut on me is also very, very generous. Maybe size 34 would have sufficed.

let us know how you get on - be keen to compare all the post shrink measurements to the pre shrink

Maynard, I've tried that and now it only shows 7 garments available, how many are you seeing?

I can't believe they could have sold out of that much stock in 24 hours - not at 30% discount!

I still have several pairs of 76 in my cart which are available but they are not showing on the main page. Looks deliberate to me.

still all disappeared on the UK site

Re-measured the 36x36 the Maynard-style and it came close to 37".

I machine washed them at 60 °C, followed by a 30 minutes trip through the dryer (inclusive those sexy dryer fades) and the waist is now at 34.5" and the inseam 33.4".
I'm quite sure not all shrinkage have been taken care of but this will happen with future washes I assume.

What are the hems measuring post wash. Looking at your measurements I'm going for a 36 waist now not the 34 - cheers B_f

but removing of the cinch and suspender buttons would be authentic ;)

Whats the best way to remove the suspender buttons? I wear my 33 with a belt and these buttons kill my hip bones

  14. do the 1001 really only come in a 32 inch leg? I can't find any site with measurements of the inside leg more than 80cm?!? Help I think I need a warehouse fix!

The only potential way is not to put anything in the back pockets, but as @chicote says they do just come apart but this is to be embraced- it's deliberate to mimic the broken arcs of vintage Levis. Even when the arcs come away, it leaves a darker line on the pockets so almost a ghost arc. 1101 is a fantastic cut- enjoy them and go with whatever happens to the arcs- all a part of the evolution and beauty of the jeans B)

agree I don't use my back pockets and my arcs are intact, must be inside abrasion that causes them to break as I've certainly sat on my arse loads in mine :D
