Denim is fine for patching but not 18oz, something lighter is better. If you use too light a fabric though it may wear through again. This is my experience.

You’re right b_F, the other one’s more about jeans than denim per se - I should have read the intro rather than just the title. I quite like seeing a continuity of theme from old threads and reading what people thought about denim 5, 10, 15 years ago (plus observing how tastes and ideas have changed) rather than having duplication because people aren’t aware of pre-existing ones. In this case, however, if it’s just the denim, then I think it’s sufficiently different to stand alone, so I’m happy to leave as is.

Looking back, there are a number of similar favourite jean threads in addition to the one I mentioned - Top 5, favourite jeans, 1 pair to take to a desert island, etc…!

I bought a Lightning magazine from them last year I think. The transaction was fine.

I don’t generally like Whole Earth, I find it too dry but perhaps the dark roasted one is different. We usually buy standard Pip & Nut crunchy or occasionally Manilife. I like their deep roast.

Although as @Double 0 Soul mentioned, I don’t visit any of the other parts of the forum outside Superdenim so would need a change in my habit. Plus, I get the feeling it may be swamped by items for sale that I have no interest in, such as 3D printed Acronym trousers and Rick Owens leather ponchos, etc so would be harder to navigate.

I’ve never worn (or even tried on) the Sugar Cane ‘66 model but from what I’ve read, it should be fine to size down by 1” on them as long as the waist will fit - so you’ll have to do some homework on that measurement (plenty of info scattered around this thread, plus vendors charts). They should have a loose top block with a higher rise than the Hawaii but a tapered lower leg.

Perhaps they’re showing as sold out until they actually become available and then the correct quantities will be shown so that customers can order them.
