Sup guys. Guess this counts as my contest entry: Brooklyn Bootworks Cobble Hill in Cordovan.
Nice to finally see a someone post a pair. I remember the chat about them when they were on sale a while back but there was no substance.
Any comments on the fit, quality of the leather, craftsmanship, etc.?

Neatsfoot oil is Horween's recommendation, although there are many products that will help maintain chromexcel. Montana's Pitch Blend leather dressing seems to be another popular product.
Check out the suggestions in the comments section on the Horween blog post about chromexcel.

finally pulled the trigger on a pair of white's. cannot believe it took me so long to get a pair.
opted for the 6" bounty hunter over semidress since my aldens already function as "semidress" shoes.

I actually prefer White's distressed smooth leather to natural chromexcel. These worn in pairs look fantastic:

Just picked up the new Burgus Plus Lot 757. The denim is really slubby for Burgus, about 16 oz., and slightly green-hued from a sulfur dye process of some sort. The colour was not obvious from the Hinoya site but pretty damn obvious lined up against my Flat Head F380s (right, bottom pic).
Denim sounds and looks similar to the Blue in Green N-02. Given the talk that they might have been made in the same factory, it seems possible that they are indeed the same denim. I posted this photo a while back:

white's semidress ?
the trubalance 9e fits the best of all my shoes, while the 9.5d trubalance also fits very comfortably. the internal length measurement on both of these is 10 7/8 to 11 inches.
according to the measurements given by whitesriver on eBay, a size 9 on the sd last measures 10 3/4 and a 9.5 measures 10 7/8 inches. i am apprehensive about going with 9.5 and having them fit big for some reason...
i did the foot trace and took some measurements, but i don't know how that corresponds to white's sizing, and the tracing is slightly larger than the size of my foot.

That's terrible luck, mega. Your story makes me want to buy a pair of White's before moving out of North America; seems like dealing with them stateside is a convenience I should take advantage of while I can.
On a related note, anyone heard of Ultrasound Boots? They have a great collection of White's (and other workboot) porn:

Nice to see some of the less common leathers and various sole combinations.

I was thinking about selling these, but needed to resole them before I put em up and now I'm not sure.
Is this the brown smooth leather and is the sole close trim? They look too large for me, otherwise I would be interested...
cheers for the comment on cordovan in hot weather. i think subconsciously i'm looking for an excuse to buy a pair of white's so my feet aren't sweating in the australian heat.

asked this in the horsehide contest thread, but perhaps will get a better response here:
Do you find the breathability of cordovan shoes/boots in hotter climates to be an issue?
I am moving from a cool climate to hot climate, and I don't want to bring boots with me that I won't wear if it's too hot (e.g. 30 degrees celsius). Does calfskin fare any better, or is this just too hot to wear boots?

But since moving to Australia, the weather is too hot for cordovan!!!
This is terrible news. I am moving to Australia and was planning on bringing two(!) pairs of cordovan boots, until now. What is appropriate footwear for Australian weather, Adelaide, to be precise?
Good luck with the sale!

To be honest, I don't know if I'm happy or not. The quality of the workmanship seems to be very good...
Was the right edge of the sole (welt and midsole) on the right boot already chewed up before you had them resoled? If that wasn't pre-existing, I would consider that to be pretty shoddy workmanship...

Hey fellow heavyweights. Interesting to see how everyone's jeans are holding up to their respective amount of wear. A lot of threads worn on mine, arcs, belt loops, fly, etc., but those won't greatly affect the longevity of the jeans. The crotch, however, needed some preventative maintenance, so I busted out the good old needle and thread:
:
Curious to see any repairs on your guys' jeans too!

These Rider Boot Co. boots look pretty slick; not too sure about the nuances of blake/rapid construction as opposed to Goodyear welt though.

I have for sale a pair of Alden Natural Chromexcel Wingtip Boots on the Plaza last in size 9.5E. They feature all blind eyelets and a single oiled leather flex welt sole. The boots have been worn three times.
I should note that the uppermost right eyelet on the right boot was not attached properly by Alden and fell out. I had the eyelet replaced by a cobbler (see picture).
Aside from the issue with the eyelet, the boots are first quality (I purchased them at full price from Leather Soul).

I have for sale an Arcteryx Alpha SV shell jacket in Miro Blue, size small. Perhaps not for the tastes of this forum, but this is the ultimate shell for technical outerwear. The jacket was worn twice for non-physical activity.
The measurements are as follows:
Pit-to-pit: 23.5"
Shoulder: 20.5"
Sleeve: 25"
Length: 29"
***$400USD***

I have for sale a 3sixteen Field Salt & Pepper Field Jacket from a couple of seasons back. It's been worn approximately 15 times and washed once.
I should note that the male-half of the button snap on the sleeve pocket has fallen off; it came off when the jacket was new, but I never had a need to use the sleeve pocket and this did not affect the aesthetic of the jacket.
Measurements are as follow:
Pit-to-pit: 21"
Shoulder: 20"
Sleeve: 26"
Length: 27"
***$150USD***
