  1. Those look fantastic IH, nice one!

PSA - I'm selling my TCB Cat Boy size 48, as mentioned, and it's getting offers on Grailed. Considering Grailed take a percentage, plus the people on there tend to not appreciate the clothing as much as our crowd, I'm just letting folks know in case they want to get an offer in before I make a decision (asking for $200USD).

@Aries does tightening up the cinch help?

It does mate. Still, just looking at the minor differences between 46 and 48, I think the 46 might just give that fitted edge. I've posted up the sales thread over on the Ironheart forums and on Grailed, we'll see what happens!

  3. Now I compare 46 and 48, there's a tiny difference in measurements, might just give me a slightly more fitted look. If anyone wants to grab this 48 for a slight discount/trade for a 46, let me know.

  4. Half an inch shrinkage in chest and shoulders; the length has shrunk a bit more than that and now sits just above the belt.

  5. @mpukas yeah the shoulders and waist width are a touch large (sleeves are fine), but definitely something I think I can fix with a hot soak/tumble, which I think I’ll get to today, will post pics after. Still happy with this fit if it stays like it, it’s a comfortable size.

  6. Ok folks, the size 48 is in (2 sizes up from my 50s jacket FYI).

Thoughts on fit? It's the one wash version so I reckon I can get further shrinkage out pretty easily with a hot wash/tumble.

  7. I got it One Wash, so hopefully if it's too big I can send it back for an exchange quite easily (though bought direct from TCB, not sure how the exchange process works...!). I'll post pics when I receive!

  8. Ordered a size 48 cat boy jacket. I’m a 44 in the 50s but the cat boy seems significantly smaller. Time will tell...

i was working for a boutique leather shop for several years and was in charge of selecting the hides (quality control)—this could sometimes take an entire day, inspecting them for flaws, cuts, blemishes et al. i do like leather to show scars and the like, but in an organic way, not by such destructive nonsense.

Fascinating, can we get some insight? What do you look for/what are the signs of really good quality leather, in your opinion?

  10. Just received my rider jacket from DC4 in Germany.

Incredible quality, as you’d expect. Just need to let the shoulders soften and fall a bit (as ever with FH’s quirky shoulder to chest ratio).

    Nice pickups!

The loops in the armholes of the N-1 jacket are so you can hang it from a clothesline to dry.

Fun fact (hopefully): if memory serves correctly (and having tried this myself to verify), the armholes on the N-1 are to loop one’s pair of work dungarees through, so that one can work with the jacket hanging round the waist and then pull on the jacket when it gets cold at night. Common for engineers on deck in cold conditions when night hits and temps go from hot to freezing.

Have you tried standard and strange?

I'm not sure if they still do this but some time back I asked them for a real McCoy's item that they didn't have in store

they ended up ordering it from japan and shipped it over to me

I can second that S&S will absolutely do that whenever possible.
