You might like the 14.5 oz Memphis denim Flash, they make the 1001 with it occasionally (and of course, it's always used on the 800xx.) Starts out darker, has a deeper sort of shade to it. This is a great example of how it ages.
Yes I prefer that denim , still have an old pair of 660 somewhere in the house
Looking forward to wearing my 25th 1946 , that denim starts out darker and has a really nice texture ... quite subtle but grainy

Warehouse 1001xx 25th (50's) at about 6 months or so of wear . Getting a bit bored with the 1001xx denim if I'm honest , was never my favourite warehouse denim ... dont get me wrong it's a lovely denim with plenty of character I just prefer a darker denim starting out .
I'll be sticking to these for another year or so (at least) but I may wear one of my old conners pairs from time to time

Always interesting seeing jeans from this period , the yoke and back seam orientations changed quite a few times

Speaking of differences in brands , warehouse regular patches ( for example the ones used on the 25th 50/46 ) are indestructible .... I've boil washed both my pairs and the patches didn't even shrink a bit

Nothing special , just hot water mate
Washing machines weren't popular in America until the 50's or there abouts so a lot of people were just hand washing there clothes and id guess a few pots of boiling water and a big tin bath/bucket were pretty common

^Too cheap!
There's a few swanky kiddy clothing stores on the row of shops near us.. Snugg, Trapeze, b.biscuit (are the ones i can remember) while browsing for a gift for a newborn a couple of months ago i spotted these, made in Turkey and construction-wise they just look like a regular pair of jeans with a bib sewn in the front, even this junk is £90
Bet there is insane profit in those . Profit was never in my mind to be honest .... yes I wanted to make a few £ but putting something cool out there is enough as long as it gets "out there"

It's really crazy that you have to lower the price so much.
Well hopefully people know a good deal when they see it

Price has been dropped to £85 ( with free UK shipping ) on the NO1 jeans ..... pretty good deal if you ask me

Loved his post on finding the guy in Harajuku wearing a pair of s501xx , that's the reason I got interested in wartime Levi's

It’s good they’re running with an early 201. I say early as the 1920s version is, in my mind, the 201 simply because that’s the model LVC used to run with. So I always associate the 201 with black lacquer doughnut buttons, rather than the earlier buttons that Warehouse are using here.
@Dr_Heech I might be going blind or daft (or likely a combination of the two), but do those 201s look like they’re missing an arse seam (the vertical one)? Do you know if that’s accurate? Could just be how they’re folded and might need to wait on more photos.
The Seam is still there mate , just folded funny
