  1. So I was talking to a knife smith last week and I've been interested in making a custom fixed blade for a while. I thought I would throw it up on superfuture to see if anybody might be interested in going in on them.

As far as design goes, I thought it would be cool to have a collaboration of sorts. If people want to just throw up pretty knives that they truly like but could never afford, we could just start there. It won't be any crazy steel but most likely tempered tool steel.

For starters, I've always really liked the TAD Gear Dive Utility Knife, especially the 3rd revision with the pry bar on the back.

Then there's the Surefire EW-05 fixed blade that I fell in love with as soon as I held it. It's a very ergonomic knife with a nice weight to it and it feels great to use.

The pricing would be around $100 and would include options for kydex or leather sheath. The handles could either be denim micarta or paracord wrapped if you want. I'll ask the knife smith if he has any photos of his work.

  2. I have no place to do any mods so it would have to be bought ready to ride (i have storage in nj for the winter). I will also look at TW200 which would be closer to $2k.

I don't care for bigger bikes. I rode sport bikes in college and I' done with them. I just want a small light bike to get around the city but it's not going to be a commuter bike.

Loved my Honda XL. Reliable as hell and a hoon to ride although mine had a lot of bottom end noise. I'm sure it was just because I rode around at redline all day with that.

Oh and I crashed my CB750F :( A cyclist in the bike lane 5 meters in front of me cuts me off and I hit him dead on. I bailed off the left side of the bike and slid to a halt while the bike went under a car. I'm okay, just some bruises but the bike is totalled. 5 spots on the engine where it's leaking oil profusely and a fist sized chunk in the clutch cover missing. The right fork is bent completely in a 45 degree angle and the wheel is pushed up past where the fender used to be.

  3. I've done the measurements and we could have an 80ft slip n slide from neptune's slave quarters that shoots out my bedroom window into the street. korean place literally 10 seconds walk away too

but our house gets cold as shit so if you guys come up, bring sleeping bags.

  4. I work as a motorcycle courier for Self Edge and Holy Stitch. I don't make much but it's fun. Wish I could find a gig that had me moving stuff across the midwest.

I also flip motorcycles and cars on Craigslist while I go to school.

  5. This week is getting worse and worse. So on Wednesday, I had just finished doing deliveries on my motorcycle and as I leave work, before I can even get into 2nd gear, a cyclist cuts me off and I hit him dead on, leaving my bike totaled and with only liability insurance, I'm fucked. Luckily I wasn't injured but I would have gladly broken a wrist if my bike never fell. I had invested so much time and money over the course of 3 years getting it running perfectly.

However, now exteeng's car gets hit Saturday morning while it's parked in front of her house and the entire left side of the bumper is caved in and now we're stuck to having one back up bike while another bike awaits parts and her car is repaired. I don't want to risk driving it around at all until the insurance agent comes around. At least they left their contact information but come on, how do you hit a parked car...?

  6. I'm in a similar situation less the grime. Roommates have thrown aways pots and pans of mine, knives, destroyed so many of my belongings, once I move out life will be good (slightly better) again. Looking forward to setting up the new apt so much and buying new pots pans etc.

It's not too unclean at the old house but they don't quite finish cleaning.

Speaking of unfinished, I wrote in a previous post about how there is an insect problem. Well my dumbass roommate managed to vacuum all those maggots up which is pretty disgusting in itself but he leaves the vacuum cleaner filled with maggots in the living room and yesterday night, I see stuff moving inside it. I go up for a closer look and there's just hundreds of flies inside and they've been in there for the past MONTH.

best part? the same roommate who leaves the vacuum there tries to empty the vacuum in the living room. It's only when there are 5 people begging him not to that he finally takes it outside.

  7. signing the lease and getting the keys for my new flat today. can't wait to move out of the hellhole that is my old house. I smell a pest problem soon as I found maggots in the middle of the living a couple weeks ago. and now there are flys appearing everywhere.

the cause of this? my dumbass roommates would never take out the garbage unless I remind them. I wonder if once I move out, they'll realize I was the only one who ever cleaned regularly. every dish they leave out is blamed on me because I eat "more"?

and my favorite part will be when they finally realize that practically everything is mine. all the cookware, bowls, plates, knives as well as wireless router, dvd player, netflix account, and a million other things they use every single day.

  8. also, I never pictured you as a nismo 350 guy

Me neither. I've had a lot of japanese cars but never cared for the 350z until I saw the Nismo edition. I was looking at getting a new car after 20-something 80s and 90s japanese cars. I was also able to get it for around 28k out the door with a 6yr/100k warranty :)

The front and rear end both really make the car stand out and it looks amazing. The ride is also what I consider the perfect balance of comfort and handling. Really neutral handling and getting the car to rotate with the throttle is so easy.. So far everybody who has sat in it has walked away with a different opinion of Z's.

  9. 400+whp awd cars can be just as fun as FR cars :)

My all time favorite car is the Impreza and I remember seeing yours a few times. I just hate how the electronic diffs and all the computer aids can make a shit driver look like a pro. I grew up watching rally racing so maybe all the hellaflush STi's and wingless Evos are killing it for me as well...

  10. What's the significance?

This girl I used to know would take people's blue lighters and smash them because she said the blue would lead to police lights. That girl sucked.

White lighters = bad luck? I know friends who bought one and then dropped their bong while using it. I also have friends who ONLY buy white lighters because they're semi-translucent so they can see how much fuel is left.

I've never heard about blue lighters being bad though..

    and back to knives...

I've been trying to resist buying another benchmade limited edition but they're so cool. I've always liked Osborne 940 but I could never find any color except green.

but I've also been eyeing this knife for over a year...

After holding one in person, I've decided that this fixed blade is the perfect size and a well balanced knife as well. The finish is more of a blue-grey finish and it feels great in the hand. alas, it's $200 :(

  11. Those are the ugliest springers on the market. You would buy one of those. It's cheap for a reason dude, they suck. You blow money on everything else but chince out on motorcycle stuff. If you had the same "passion" for bikes as you did jeans and boots you could have a nice bike. Return the DNA springer and get a repop Harley springer.

I quote passion because no one thinks you actually have heart, you just have loads of expendable cash.

I was actually hoping his half-assed bike would just snap at the triple while he was on the freeway...

renski, I thought that was a DRZ cause of the yamaha sticker on the fork guards but... it's a sm510? maybe you posted it before... Ever since I sold my XL350, I've been feeling the pain of not having a dual sport. There's an ATK 700 on Craigslist right now but what would I do with 700cc of 2-stroke power....
