  1. Sigh. So after owning a pair of Shure E2C for nearly 6 years, having them stolen, switching to a pair of Grados, I finally ponied up for a pair of the Shure SE425s and well they were fucking awesome. The cables were sturdy, thick, and detachable from the earbuds. Plenty of tips and great sound reproduction. Granted, I missed my Grados a little bit after giving them away but the SE425 more than made up with a comfortable fit, to the point that I would regularly forget I had them on when riding on the motorcycle. For some reason, I would get a little bit of discomfort when running as if they were being tugged out of my ear.

However, I recently lost these headphones and am looking again. My budget is around the same $200-$250. I actually bought the SE425 overseas for under $200 after some haggling. I would like something with slightly more "punch", similar to the Grados, at the expense of accurate sound reproduction. Any recommendations?

  2. I remember making fun of rice rockets and such while growing up. Didn't know a single person who thought it was cool to put stickers on their car and most of my friends had taken a few auto tech classes before delving into their own cars. It's quite often now that I hear of people complaining about how expensive it is to go down the proper path and choose the proper modifications but in the end, these same people often spend twice as much in just fixing their car after their half-assed modification tears everything else to pieces.

Now it seems like function can barely catch up with form while kids toss out their perfectly fine suspension and wheels in favor of poorly thought out coilovers and fake wheels with ridiculous alignments and stretched tires. What the hell happened? Are people so hellbent on personalizing their car that in an effort to make it unique, that they ultimately turn it their once normal car into a rolling pile of junk?

I'm not saying everybody should throw as much money as they can into making a racecar but fuck, manufacturers spend millions of dollars researching and testing nearly every variable of a car before it's put on sale. How are you going to undo all that in the pursuit of being cool in front of your friends?

Thoughts on the pepper blaster? Been thinking about picking one up and velcro-ing it to my motorcycle for those ridiculous road rage moments.

And why not a speedloader for the revolver? Granted if you can't get a job done without reloading, should have ran...

  4. Ugh rear tire needs to be changed. Then again I'm surprised the bt090 lasted this long. Now I have a hard time deciding between pilot powers and the bt003rs.

Have you looked into the Pilot Road 3? Mine have lasted forever on the VFR and don't even look close to wearing down. The first day I got my rear on, it was raining and I managed to do a rolling burnout for a block in front of another rider. I am such an asshole.

The CB550 is going under the knife next week. Need to do another valve adjustment and check the cam chain tension. It's sad that it doesn't get ridden more often but the VFR is a dream. I've ridden plenty of bikes that felt faster and had neck snapping acceleration but the VFR is so goddamn fast and smooth from 3k to redline that I am actually going a constant 10mph faster on average. Getting my suspension sorted this coming week. My fork seal started leaking but thankfully I have an extra set of forks that have been set up with Racetech springs and gold valves.

  5. Shure SE425 after using the E2C for 6 years, getting them stolen and replacing them with E4C. Replaceable cables are such a good idea.

Still want another pair of Grados after giving mine away as a gift.

  6. I have a pair of Ironheart 634 XHS for sale in a size 32. They were hemmed incorrectly so they're up for sale. They have never been worn or seen water of any sort. They can be hemmed shorter if the buyer wants.

    They are exactly that pair.

Looking for $400 including shipping within the USA.

If you really want these, I can even stitch back those pieces that were cut off and you will look pretty bad.

  7. all my teeth move slightly and i grind them at night. dunno if i should get invisalign. i think there is an underlying problem.

in the meantime, going to watch adventures of tin tin: the secret of the unicorn. can't believe that's the real title.

there won't be a coca-cola freestyle machine there so no peach fanta. or peach sprite.

  8. I drive an 07 civic Si and I love it to death. Visually it's stock (sans lower via coilovers,) but I've gone the full N/A tuning route up to cams (intake, header, exhaust, Hondata, etc.) I went to a dyno meet & greet for Si owners after putting in the cams (but prior to re-tuning) and was up to something like 230HP, 165 ft/lbs... but that just sounds too high to me. After a couple of years of buying into dyno chat/hype and how many factors can alter the readout, I don't really care about numbers anymore. It's a blast to drive when I hoon it, and that's all I care about these days!

Every time I drive it, I wonder what it would've been like had I just saved up for a year or so and went down the turbo route. In the end, I'm satisfied with its daily driver reliability, and having some sort of turbo-related breakdown while away at school would be pretty inconvenient.

Paint sucks though; hood is chipped to shit. I'm not a big fan of the color anymore (rallye red) but it looks incredible immediately following a wash & wax. Not entirely sure what I want to upgrade to once I graduate, it seems to change once a month. Always loved s2000s, WRXs, and Zs. Can't ignore the new Mustangs any longer. I still catch myself reading up on the progress of the FT-86...

naturally aspirated is the way to go. i drove turbo cars around for a long time from MR2s, 240SX, Impreza, etc. Gas mileage sucks, reliability goes out the door, always running hot and having to wait for turbos to cool down before turning off the car. Don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic piece of technology and certainly game changing but it's cheap power.

However, I may consider a supercharger for my Z in the future but I am still at 17xxx miles so it's a bit of ways before I dig into the engine. The Nismo is my benchmark for suspension though with no body roll and confidence inspiring stability when clipping the apex and corner exit. The Starlet is getting there but could be a bit stiffer with a roll cage. Once a 4AGE goes in though...
