  3. Haha, might go delete an old post to maintain the 555...

I don't know about 2cm per size... Maybe 1/2 an inch per size? Size 11UKs seem to measure around 30-31cm inside, whereas most 10's are between 29 and 30cm.

I like a pretty snug fit and my feet aren't too wide, as long as the shoe measures at least 29cm inside, my toes bunch up without complaint.

  4. black, GPO had 46 and 48 but I'm sure the other stores have other sizes if you need them. killer price for a quality jacket, can't go wrong.

Black is the only colour Fat have the work jackets in, I should post some photos of how the nubuck texture is developing on my work jacket... Looks 10x better once its worn in, it takes on a sheen and the goat skin grain becomes more visible . Fat should have some sea coats around as well...

  5. what did you dye with JV? any tips on dying leather?

i've got a Florian Denicourt buffalo leather weekender in a brown/grey that isnt too pleasing. it looks glossy/waxed?. wouldnt mind dying it black

I bought an aniline dye, which reacts with aniline processed leather and is absorbed into it. You've got to leave it for 48 hours to become permanent, but it should be just as durable as the original colour when it's done.

If it's not an aniline leather and it's coloured with just a top-coat, you use a different method / dye, but it's still do-able.

I'm going to guess the Florian Denicourt leather is aniline... It'd be a four stage process; stripping back the sealing coat, buffing it back with a wire brush to soften the glossiness (only if you wanted it more matte), applying the new dye, then re-sealing it with a conditioner.

I don't have a cheap / reliable supplier for the chemicals as yet... I'm looking at moving to Sydney in September and I'm hoping to get set up there.

interested to see outcome of re-dyeing JV, isn't there a risk the leather will shrink slightly?

Not with the aniline process, maybe in a fully submersed hot dipped dye it might though?

  6. Thank you James.

A few bottles of wine for me.. time for bed:o

Sweet dreams. Next birthday, 2010. On that Jetsons tip.

Do the shoes, no one will miss the gold.

The only gamble, my black dye is for aniline leather. If Ann cheaped out on the leather, the dye won't hold. Don't let me down babby.

I'll bring in the jacket tomorrow; got 4 new finishes I'm R&D'ing; overdyed, gravelled, patina'd and triple washed (re-dyed, washed and waxed) - this recolouring is just an experiment for my waterproofed nubuck leather.

  7. Just successfully recoloured a leather jacket... Kind of addictive... Any disablers to talk me out of giving a black re-dye to the gold Ann sneakers I've got? Not like anyone going to miss the gold, right?

And J, happy m'f'n birthday. Sipping Chivas Regal in your honour.

  8. D, I agree about the chocolate. I think it's because they put extra preservatives/stabilisers in them so they hold together in our warm climate? Most mass-produced lines use cheap ingredients, so they're never going to be that remarkable, but there is some good stuff from smaller producers...

  9. sorry guys, im sure you noticed my lack of posting, the next month is going to be brutal. probably the most hectic time of my life, so bare with me.

If Joe doesn't mind, I'll fill in some of the blanks for people.

There's new website/blog/gallery for Never End in development and the epic amount of photos and exclusive content from Paris are waiting for the new site to be published - which will serve as the online launch event for the store internationally.

A lot of eyes are on Never End (inside and outside the industry), so everything has to be at the level needed to reflect the position Bt's moving into.

FW09 collections are arriving in a month, and between now and then, all the old stock has got to go, so there'll be some epic sale threads with the Geller, CON, Julian Red, Beat Poet and other stock.

Its all been a bit of a cock tease so far, only because theres so much work going into actually making all this shit happen right.
