  1. Only side effect for me is that I get the shits

Appetite loss? Dry mouth? Clenched jaw?

With too many instead of going from distractable to focused, my metal state can get hyperfocused - like when driving a car, just focusing on the bumper bar of the car in front, not the whole of your surroundings (pedestrians, turning cars, blind spots...). I also think I'm a little more clumsy, bumping into things and knocking things over more than I normally would.

  2. I'm 90% sure I'll be in New York this January and I'm eyeing off a few hooded coats, I'd definitely consider the Bless coat in a medium size.

    Two that I've been watching;

(Balenciaga, 48 sold out already, hoping one turns up for auction)

(Jil Sander, holding out for deep discount)

Also got a lead on an old VOTC piece, 1/2 as much as the Jil, which is closer to my budget.

  3. fenrost, I really like the long, lightweight outer layer as a silhouette and the cut on the Volga piece is remarkable. bt's getting the Mihara black long shirt in cotton/silk blend for less than 1/2 that Volga's price tag. I'm interested in it for myself, but I don't think it's as fitted.

  4. All prices are in USD, payments via PayPal. Shipping is $20 to the USA and Europe, $15 to Asia, $10 to New Zealand and free within Australia.

Free shipping if you purchase both items, not entertaining offers.

  5. Pretty sure the Lightroom 3 beta added watermark functionality. And since you can publish straight to Flickr from Lightroom 3, you've just cut two steps from your workflow. And you can bridge directly between Lightroom and Photoshop on the fly if you need specific PS functions.

  6. these are great. any one with a model number? or better yet, an idea where i can pick up a pair? s/s06, right?

    Found this old article...

    "Black Tie 42/S"

They do come up for sale occasionally. If you're persistent, a pair might pop up on Superfuture, Y!JP or msndiorhomme.multiply.com

A few old results on in the supermarket...

They might not always be listed under their style code, so do search for variants of 06 / ss06 / campaign / runway / sunglasses.

  7. For me the pants-pocketable size was the decider in going the GRD3 over any of the micro 4/3 cameras.

I'm impressed by the way the S90 achieves the key GRD3 strengths (small form factor, fast lens, relatively big sensor) for less money, but now that the price difference is down to $200 between them, I think the sharper (but fixed) GR glass and 920k screen do a lot to recommend it.

I do like the expandability too, but I get the feeling once you add the 21mm wide lens and the flash, it kind of defeats the GR purpose...

  8. jcot, all the proper 'Dior Homme' sunglasses were released under the title 'Black Tie', so if you include that in your search, you'll skip the worst of it. KVA's glasses the last few years haven't been particularly fresh though.

Linda Farrow, the 70s women's wear designer, is dead - so the bulk of the glasses under the label are about reviving her archive, and men's eyewear wasn't a big part of that. The colabs represent the bulk of it really.

Cutler and Gross are really badly represented. No catalogue of the range or distribution online, so what filters through is a narrow selection, but occasionally there is some remarkable pieces.

  9. Not many blogs that I'd wholeheartedly recommend, but you might get some mileage out of these - if you're not already reading them...

http://www.ablogcuratedby.com/welcome/ (the non-baller version of the epic magazine)

http://coutequecoute.blogspot.com/ (not always good, but always big images and frequent updates)

    http://www.purple-diary.com/ (zham's hustle)

http://www.theselby.com/ (really fresh content behind each entry)

    http://www.we-make-money-not-art.com/ (assorted dope shit)

http://www.dazeddigital.com/ (bit of everything, can be quality, but the stingy feed gets me down [hate when sites just run a header and a teaser of the text, don't make me visit the site just to decide if I'm interested])
