For those of us in the southern hemisphere coming out of winter and heading into spring, Melbourne-based Fashionising is running solid coverage of the Motorolla Melbourne Spring Fashion Week.
Galleries for all the shows are updated here: http://www.fashionising.com/fashiondiary/
Tuesday was the first day of shows with Flux, Leopold, Clemente Talarico and Flamingo Sands. Still to come areAlpha 60, Claude Maus, Freidrich Gray, Material Boy, Romance Was Born, LIFEwithBIRD and more.
I'll update with highlights as they show. What do you like? What do you hate?

Without knowing your target market and position, I've got a few divergent suggestions from Australian locals:
John Ferdinand (http://www.johnferdinand.com/)
Hayley Mei (http://hayleymei.com/)
Chronicles of Never (http://www.chroniclesofnever.com/)

Check out Pointer, Clae, Common Projects and Love Thy Neighbor for some alternative slimmer shoes and sneakers.
Most of the major sporting brands have retro style tennis shoes with a slim profile, like Converse's Jack Purcell, Dunlop's Volley, as well offerings from Nike, Adidas and Puma.

I know that RM sdSD are treated with a vegetable tannin to preserve it and stop it from rotting. So yup, the correct term is "unstained"
Knowing that Red Moon uses vegetable tan completes the picture for me... So when we're talking about leather in these forms, it's usually an un-dyed vegetable tanned leather.
Vegie tan leather leaves more life in the surface, so it will respond more dramatically to wear and treatments (sun, oil etc.), and achieve better results in embossing and printing. It costs more than a cheaper 'heavy metal' tan like chrome, but the waste is less harsh on the environment.

Phrases like 'untanned' and 'raw' are used to describe these leathers, but they must have some stage of preserving? Is there a more technical name for the unfinished/sealed surface? Or is it just a light coloured leather that shows wear faster?

I see a lot of wearable pieces underneath the accessories, and I like them. There is too much gentleman in todays fashionable 'military' wear, not enough warrior and war lord.
