It is an instant classic, but not because it was an excellent movie, but purely on the merits of Ian's story and the slick recreation of Manchester's scene in the late 70s. For me the crushing reality of the story and the perfectly executed aesthetic were more affecting than the actual narrative or the actors performances (with a few exceptions in Sam Riley and Toby Kebbell).

Go by measurements, not tagged sizes - avoid the guess work.

Unless you size down one or two sizes, these jeans are not tight, go your regular size if you want slim, but remember the epic inseam will make them bulkier than your regular pair of slim jeans.

The hot water won't stay hot for 4 hours, you might want to regularly change the water.

It depends if 'better' to you is a measure of quality only...

R.M. Williams has a few Chelsea boots in their dress range with cuban heels. They're well made, but the styling may not be as fashion-forward as you are after. The RRP isn't cheap but they're not too hard to find around for less.

Look for 'Tamworth with Cuban Heel' and also the 'The Yearling' which has a pointed toe.

I saw that same comment and they may have simply been comparing the current season to the less forgiving sizing of some earlier seasons. I don't believe its a KVA design they're talking about.

My size 32 19cm MIJ raw black are 35" inches across.

Where I wear my jeans is around 36", so I thought the 35" would allow me to wear them without 'stressing' them with stretching. That was a shit idea though, the feeling of the jeans constantly about to fall off ruined it, and there was an epic volume in the ass of the jeans because the rise on the jeans isn't that low.

Dark City got slept on in 1998, and totally forgotten following The Matrix. It preceeds The Matrix's use of a cyberpunk influenced setting and religious symbols, but uses it as a background for its own murderous noir plot. A scifi classic in the purest sense.

The late 80's Supra, the JZA70 (2.5 twin turbo) or MA70 (3.0 turbo) have similar lines to the AW11 MR2. If you want something closer to the size of an AW11, an AE86 is about it.

Part of the problem is that people have all kinds of ideas for a waist measurement. True waist? Natural waist? Where they actually plan on wearing their jeans (over their hips)? The size of the mall brand jeans they used to wear?

Add into that the changes in Dior sizing throughout the last 5 years, different materials that stretch different amounts, different cuts, tagged with a 'waist' size that is very different to their actual size - then combined with the fact that a lot of people shopping for these can never try them on in advance - and you end up with 3608 posts of dredge, running in circles asking the same questions from beginning to end.

I don't think you can fix that now by talking people out of their questions.

Go size 28. I sized up one over my Nudie size (31) and now I'm selling them to size down.

Alternately, you could measure your waistband of your Nudies and see how they're faring, if you like that fit, go to an online store with a Dior sizing chart (diabro.net) and work out which pair is best.

Do the waxed Dior jeans stretch out similarly to the plain cotton?

I just picked up a pair of these loafers, 1853 by Levi's

Completely love them, the dusty black colour and the lightly crushed texture on the leather, along with the full leather construction (uppers, lining, sole), make them pretty unique.

While they've got a good discount on them, they're not cheap enough that I can spring for a pair of the oxfords in the same collection just yet...
