  1. Just ordered the black/black 3s jacket - curious what the colour transfer is like. Worried my shirts are all gonna get black shoulders/etc. Is it worth giving a wash/soak before wearing?

Whoa, that actually differs by quite a bit from what I'd expect based on R&H's charts…they list a 15.25" rear rise pre-shrink. Your numbers seem a lot more reasonable.

My 400T size 33 are at 10.8" front rise and 14.5" back rise after a couple years. To me they feel more like a higher rise because of the roomy hips...they don't pull at the hips.

anyone have any experience with their 04 type model (5104 or 7104)? Going by online measurements it's a tapered model but I can't find any fit pictures.

I’ve been wondering about this cut as well. For some reason I thought it was the same as the SEXSG24, but the 04 cut seems to be much wider in the knee, a bit longer front rise, and a lower back rise. I like the cut of my wavy standards, and interested in the 5xxx denim.

    Anyone have these?

  4. UES400T - unknown number of wears since 2015, and at least 6+ washes. These are ridiculously comfortable, but have become a bit baggy, so they're now my at home lazy jeans. The denim is so soft that they don't really hold creases much anymore. So, where I once had some nice contrast to the whiskers, they've actually muted a bit with more wear.

Thinking of trying out the UES400ST next, my only complaint with the 400T was they are a bit more roomy than I'd like.

Here are my SEXSG24s.  I haven't worn these too much because they are a bit too snug.  Maybe 60 days total wear, with one or two handwashes somewhere in there.  Despite seeing so little action, they are nonetheless very close to having a crotch blow-out (due in part to the so-slubby-it's-abrasive denim, and in part to the aforementioned snugness).  Tossing them in the washing machine in advance of taking them in for a repair, and figured I should take a "before" picture.  I'm more into a more classic and less flashy denim these days, but the denim on these is pretty amazing.  In person, they look like those high contrast photos some people take of their jeans to make them look more instagrammable.  Not sure I was able to capture that quality with my iphone.

These are looking great for 60 days of wear. I'm hoping mine start looking like that soon. I find they don't form as defined creases as other pairs...eg the honeycomb creases are not defined much.

  6. Finally posting fit pics of my SEXSG24. Got them in Sept 2017, but didn't have a chance to wear them with a hot and humid Aussie summer. Started wearing in June...so this is with about 4 weeks of wear (3-4 days a week), just getting started.

Still feeling like the rise is too low for my liking, but getting used to it.

  7. After 5 wears they're substantially more comfortable. Still loving the fabric.

The thighs have become quite soft, some of the short cotton fibres wear off like pieces of lint.

I'm hoping the rise stretches out a bit, that's the only thing I dislike about them. The rise, coupled with the generous fabric around the crotch can make it look like a pouch for my nuts sack. I can't really cross my legs or this is even more apparent. I find myself pulling them down quite low on my hips to combat it.

I was initially thinking about entering the DWC with these, but can't decide how often I'll wanna wear them.

  8. Got my SEXSG24 in the mail this week. Put them through the wash and dried in the sun. These are some crunchy rough and sandpapery jeans! Some great texture. I'm shocked that they are slow to break in, I basically cut myself on them. But maybe they soften up quickly??? I'm actually hoping they soften up...did you find they took a while to stretch out/feel more comfortable?

They shrunk a lot, about 2.5" length.

  9. Thanks @FeloniousMonk, I think you sold me on them. The rise might take a while to get used to, I prefer in the 10.5-11" range. But think 10" might be manageable (I'm thinking that's what the size 34" will shrink down to).

Seeing the denim again gets me even more excited about them. They look super textured but not very hairy, that accurate? It's surprising that you haven't seen any signs of wear.

  10. Thanks @FeloniousMonk - really helpful. If you get a chance to compare actual measurements of the Caribous compares to the SEXSG24, that'd be incredible.

I'm a 32 in my Caribous and have 32 in the FC1101...the Caribous are perfect in the thigh, whereas I find the FC a bit too generous all around.

I've had the SG1109 in 33 before but the rise was a bit low, but really the thighs were just too narrow. Kiya thinks I'll be happy with these in a 34.

I've wanted to get into a pair of SGs for the last few years, but the cuts have been too slim for me. I'm contemplating the SEXSG24, but there don't seem to be many people talking about this cut. From what little I've read, it seems to be a bit more generous in the top block, but it is not as generous as the measurements suggest. Anyone have any other thoughts on this model/cut?

Also, is this the same as the SG7104?

Nevermind, there are a few pairs purchases about a year ago - would be cool to see some evo pics or updates. As I feared, the rise and narrow thighs may nix these for me. I don't want a top block/thighs any more snug than my Sam 710, Fullcount 1101 or Ande Whall Caribou. I'm not sure I can trust the measurements in the SEXSG24.

  13. My 400Ts - I've had them for 1yr 11mos, but only 11mos wear. 3 machine washes at 50 degrees.

I live in the subtropics and sweat like an SOB wearing denim in the summer, so my jeans don't get a lot of wear.

^^ Do you mean SR7 Cobras or Caribou? The Cougar were an old pre-earthquake model that were dropped once Ande relaunched, perhaps even before that.

Whilst my SR7s are starting to disintegrate in more places, my grey SR10 are getting a fair bit of wear over the summer and my solid blacks are being worn sparingly. I still have my SR11 and SR14 raw and raring to go!

Yeah, my mistake, I mean Caribou.

  15. Anyone know of someone looking to sell Cougars in 32? I'm crushed I missed out - I've been distracted from the denim world for the last year (new baby, phd, general madness). I come back and Ande's done :(

I love my SR7 cougars...haven't worn them in a while and rekindled the flame this week.

There seem to be no Whalls for sale anywhere.

  16. You've sold me on the jacket. Much props bruh bruh. Side note these s710xx24oz are coming along a bit quicker than I thought..anyone else got wear??

Would love to see some pics of the evo. You've only had them for a couple weeks?

  17. i could live with the gold top button, even grow to like it.  But those thick, ropey arcs, no fucking way.  bad choice if you ask me.

I would think that once one colour is removed they won't look too bad, or I suppose remove them altogether. I think the back pocket rotation will be the most noticeable feature. It will really set these apart when they start to fade, perhaps in a good way.

  18. Just don't change up your washing/soaking method. I hot soaked my 19oz 710s, got some shrinkage (1.5" in length), then hot washed them in a washer and got another 1.5" of shrinkage.
