Yeah, great post. Thanks a heap.

How's the breathability of the 633S-II denim? I really love the 633 cut and want an indigo/indigo with low-contrast stitching...but would love something that I can wear in the heat of summer (sub tropics).
I know the standard sanforized 21oz is quite breathable, but not sure about this one.

Just pulled the trigger on a pair or 517 14oz. Got the same size as I wear in my Samurai 710 (33)...the 517 are a bit bigger pre-soak, but sounds like I'll get more shrinkage outta them. Hope it works out!
More to come...

Got my SR11 Caribous in the mail a couple days ago. Fit great and interesting colour! Quite soft at one wash, not sure they'll be too easy to fade...but they'll be really comfortable regardless. Fit pics eventually will follow.

Hard to even find selvedge jeans in Brisbane. Pretty much Edwin or Nudies. Apartment used to stock Imperials but apparently they didn't sell so they dropped them.
I had just assumed that there wouldn't be many places that stock Japanese/raw/selvedge denim. But maybe it's even worse than I thought haha. Perhaps the subtropical climate, people live in shorts and flip flips 8 months of the year.
Like most on here, I'm ok with buying my denim online.

I know this isn't the most appropriate place to ask this question...but I reckon there's more Aussies here than other forums.
Anyone know of someone who does chainstitching in Brisbane? I'm new to the city.

I just picked up the Caribou SR11 that was on sale. I've been considering the standard denim version for a while, but the deal was too good to pass up.
Anyone have both the SR11 (or SR7) and the regular denim and offer a comparison? Given that it's left hand, I'm considering getting both.

He's also released a Sample Sale of some one wash items in random sizes - great price at $135. I just picked up some Caribou SR11 in size 32.

Thanks Maynard. I'll go with the 32s for sure.

Thanks mate, appreciate it. I noticed some variation in measurements on BiG, thought there might be a subtle cut difference too.The 011 , 012 and 013 are all slim tapered fits in the following denim respectively: indigo warp/grey weft and left hand twill/indigo warp and indigo weft/signature indigo denim with un-dyed weft.
The X005 and X007 are slim straight fits with a wider leg opening to the slim tapered fit. The former uses the same denim as the X013, the latter the same as the X012.

Probably an ignorant question, but can someone breakdown the difference between 011, 012, 013? Are they simply denim variations or cut as well? More or less a tapered version of 005/007?

I used the Iron Heart method, measured the waist on my favorite pair of jeans and compared the actual waist size to the measurements on the website. I find it easier to just forget about tagged sizes.
Soaked once now, some shrinkage occurred but nothing a bit of wear didn't stretch out.
Thanks man, yeah I'm not concerned with tag size either. Just curious if you accounted for stretching or not. They've got some room in the thighs without looking baggy, which I'm looking for.

Jeez, looking good Raoul and DhaDha. There are 4-5 brilliant pairs. DhaDha, your 8 month, 3 soak, 3 wash seems like a perfect recipe.

Those blue arcs look really nice. I really hope they don't go hidden arcs.

SOLD
For sale: The Strike Gold 1109 in size 33.
Brand new, hot soaked and only worn 2 times.
These are incredible jeans, with nice details and incredible denim...unfortunately they are a bit too slim for me.
Here are the measurements:
Waist: 33.5"
Front rise: 10.25"
Upper thigh: 12"
Thigh (1" below top): 11.5"
Mid thigh (6" from upper thigh): 9.5"
Knee: 8"
Hem: 7.75"
Inseam: 32.25"
These have been hemmed and chainstitched.
My sense is that the waist will easily stretch out another 1".
$250$200$180 shipped internationally. Paypal preferred.Let me know if you have any questions. PM me for my email address.

New SG cut is coming out this fall which has more room in the thighs with a medium rise!
This sounds ideal to me...

That 51xx denim looks incredible and comfortable. I wish the thighs weren't so snug on SG cuts.
I'm selling a pair of SG1109 size 33 if anyone is interested (hot soaked, worn 3 times).

heyheyhey the Caribous look great. I'm curious how you sized them? I.e., your true waist measurement vs the size of jeans.
I've been eyeing up the Caribous for a few months, but just not set on the size. I'm hoping for them to stretch out to around 34.5", so thinking a size 32 is my best bet...especially seeing how much in_limbo's stretched out.

Been off the denim bandwagon for a few years - but here's some Earnest Sewn Fulton Selvedge that have been kicking around my closet. Approx 3 years of wear, over 10 washes.
Have a S710xx and SG1109 that I hope to post progress on soon-ish.0 -

Looking for an indigo/indigo or indigo/black with low contrast stitching, slim/straight tapered fit (that isn't too tight in the thighs) and isn't too heavy (or breaths well) for the hot summer months. Any suggestions?
Thinking the IH 633S-II but worry that their unsanforised denim won't breath as well as their standard denim.
