  1. they can look pretty tight still, but they do look a tad roomier now than the first set, and i dont know if you missed it or just ignored it, but he mentioned he gained like 10 lbs. take that into consideration and id definately say they stretched.

Yes, they have obviously stretched. I just meant that they clearly haven't stretched to the point of being grossly baggy or anything. They're still clearly quite slim, and probably would be still if he had bought a size bigger. Either way, they look great, and as long as IJ is happy, I'm happy.

  2. Imo, you have to have them "little girl jeans" tight for Samurai when you first wear them, so that you get a good fit afterward. I've only been wearing these for just over a month (and I've been alternating with my PBJ, so not too much wear) and they've stretched a lot. Comparison photos.

For reference, I'm 5'9" and these are size 33 (size down one from true). Then I was 178lbs. Now I'm 182lbs.

***Man, they look really blue. One hot soak and one wash. Same camera... I never realised...***

They don't look like they've stretched THAT much... Still look pretty tight to me.

  3. don't let these little girl jeans wearing kids bring you down on your fit. Those look great. Could you fit into a smaller pair? probably... but would they look better? i doubt it. Those are nice and slim all the way down and not tight...perfect fit in my opinion

    EXACTLY.....

  4. just got my 710s sz 30.

this is the fit after the first soak. comments? im kinda thinkin maybe i could have sized down one more...

Plongin - Glad to see they arrived! I think the fit is great. The waist looks pretty snug, and they will continue to shrink as you wash them more. Also, not that they're relaxed, but have jeans that aren't skin tight helps insure that you'll be able to wear them for years and years.

  5. Wild Style: the unbound wildness of your style is possibly only matched by that of your commitment to detail, and should be taken as nothing less than an inspiration to us all. You are truly fearless, sir! In my my experience, btw, women go crazy for a well defined roping effect. Good luck trying to keep them away with those bad boys.

  6. no i didn't get that either. Obviously has issues with Kiya.

Yeah, what's his beef with Self Edge?

I think the world is a certainly better place with both stores, as they both have done a great service for the brands they carry by expanding their customer base exponentially. Ultimately I think that's the most important thing. I think the argument about whether or not to buy from them vs. direct from Japan is annoying--people should just do whatever they want. They will anyway.

Now back to the Samurais. More pics!!

  7. Bump for my question re-post.

Hey, question: I tried searching but couldn't really find the answer so I'm sorry in advance if it's been answered. What's the deal with the new Samurai sizing? It's an inch smaller, is that correct? If I order from 2nd is it likely to be the new sizing? I want to order the s5000vx. Oh, I wear 31 in 811 and 103. What's your call on the s5000vx size? THANKS.
