something we learned tonight:

mr. nogami and samurai jeans are indeed going to fight this.

levi's are suing them for their backpocket designs and their tabs, but mr. nogami feels strongly that these are their identity now.

he said he feels like there are many people who have come to love their products with these details. so by giving them up without a fight is letting down his customers down. plus, he feels like his arcuates are so different from the levi's arcuates.

he is a very passionate man about his company and his work. yet he's extremely humble (he kept on collecting other people's empty beer cans and throwing them away and stuff). and a great sense of humor -- there was a constant laughter surrounding him all night.

Right? The power washed ones look kinda bad, but I think that's because they're power washed. I'm hoping the raw ones would fade better. But for 85 bucks, you can't really lose...

can you guys please let me know if the arcs and tabs are intact when you receive them? i always thought rakuten stores such as 2nd wouldnt ship directly to the US because of them, which is why i had to go through a proxy. would be so nice to get them straight from 2nd...

I don't think so. I had to get mine through a proxy. A few of the Rakurten stores that do ship to the US sell them, but I cant remember which, and their selection is limited...

I have a pair. Very nice jeans for the price. Just take your normal size or size down one. Denim and color has nice vintage feel on them.

The guy at Hinoya said the length will shrink about 3 inches. Was this your experience?

maybe i should clarify a bit.. i didn't necessarily size down 3 from my actual waist but 3 from what i normally wear with other jeans aside from samurais and diors. i have s5000bk's size 32 that i had to go thru the exact same process with and now they fit a bit loose on the waist, and i wear a 32 in diors aswell.

although i was able to get the last button on lastnight wearing them is quite uncomfortable, but im sure with wear and time they'll give a little.

9 months with no wash/soak here i come ! im excited to find out what happens !

I also say get rid of them and get at leat a 32. I don't think wearing them raw and never washing them is particulary good for their longevity. Sorry.
