  1. Chponglasia, great meeting you man! So my only next question is if we do deceide to soak them we just have to document it and then its just one year from that point in time. Am I correct in saying this? And how long can one put off before soaking, I don't really feel like getting into these right now still wanted to give some other pairs of denim a little more time.

    Great meeting you too, dude!

So yeah, is that the deal? Did we decide on the staggered start and end dates? It might be tough to enforce, since someone could easily back date an end pic. But like people have said, in the context of a year, an extra week or two probably won't make much of a difference.

  2. yeh its pretty random that I found steam locomotive. i didnt even know they were made in my area esp cuz there is nothing here ha ha. they are pretty nice tho, my next paycheck ill prolly pick up a pair of eitehr the 14.5 oz or 19 oz.

    There's a 19oz Steam Locomotive?!?! Where have I been?

  3. Wow, ok. Lots of different opinions. Thanks guys. I think I might go for the 32 and see what happens--I'm pretty annoyed about my Sam's being a bit too tight, so I don't want to make that mistake again. If they're enourmous, they'll be in the Supermarket.

  4. personally, i don't think people would put much faith in japanese repros if they didn't hold their indigo well.

Agreed. There gonna be dark as hell no matter what you do to them at first.

  5. ^^^

What's there left to do but answer sizing questions for noobs? The progression is complete from Nudie/APC to top shelf Japanese brands; there's nothing else for the veterans to discover and discuss anymore.

Before it was "Here's this great new brand (insert Sugarcane, PBJ, Samurai, Skull, Oni, etc.)" and someone would buy a pair and then the Superfuture groupthink would take over and everyone would need a pair, which would spawn pages and pages of speculation, fit pictures, and sizing anxiety.

Now that we have all acclimated to the best denim and leather goods being currently produced, there is nowhere else to go. In other words, it has become easy.

That was not about Oni in the least, but it needed to be said.

Overall I agree, but I also think there are plenty of small Japanese denim companies left to discover, and lots more cuts to have sizing anxiety about.

For example, I haven't seen anyone here pick up a pair of Eight-G 803-XX or 880, (both of which look pretty nuts) and we have yet to get definitive answers about the sizing of Steam Locomotives (which I'm dying to see). And there are lots more.

I think we all have to stay vigilant about discovering new brands as that's a lot of the fun -- for me anyway.
