I would say size down one. They look fine but I think the 710's look better tight rather than regular fit.

  2. Buy used and get more watch for the money. I have bought and sold many watches from Bob Wingate at tic-tock.com and have always been more than pleased. What about G-P or Jaeger. You may need to go a little over 4K but not by much.

  3. I posted a similar question in the Samurai Denim thread, but I need more suggestions.

I have a 33 S5000VX and 34 S510VX I don't like either fit. I dont like the S5000VX's low rise and thinish thighs, and on the S510VX I don't like the wider thighs and hem. So bascially I need something in between these two jeans, so one that is not low rise, thighs in between the S5000 and the S510 and a hem that slightly tapers to or doesnt have to taper to a hem which is about 8.7 inches (I hope that is understandable :D ). Could anyone give me some suggestions on jean which jean model would be suitable, oh and I need a pair which is on par with the Samurai in terms of quality.

    Cheers.

Oni Blue might be what you're looking for.

  4. The D1002's are also slimmer than the SD103, and left hand twill. I'm actually getting pair from Blue in Greene when it comes in stock and I'm getting them tapered (I'd get the SD103's but I'm too tall for them, apparently).

I think the 003's-14oz LHT,103 cut- are 37 inseam. An option other than tapering 1002's. The 1002's are pretty skinny all the way down with a very subtle bootcut. Almost not noticeable IMO. Wear them a few times before you get them tapered.

  5. They're listed in american sizing on the Barney's site, which is where I presume he's looking.

On a side note, any of you folks who've picked up the Buttero work boots, has anyone tried tucking their pants into the boots? Look decent? I need a pair of boots that I can tuck my April 77 suit and $375 is... relatively decent, I suppose. Hoping they go on sale.

I don't think you could tuck much into them. They fit pretty snug And I have really thin calves. Plus I don't think the style of the boot is compatible with tucking in. Disclaimer: I am not that fashion forward and would never be able to pull off pants tucked into boots so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Also you need to size down on these 1 and know that they are on the narrow side. This is great for me because I have really narrow feet also.

  6. Zagat is one of the most useless guides around except for looking up phone numbers and addresses. An annual publication is just not up-to-date enough, and the people who submit the reviews are idiots.

Chowhound is more helpful - similar to SuFu and denim, you look at it enough and you will start recognize posters who have reliable and insightful information/knowledge. Thai is a popular topic on the Manhattan board so you will find multiple entries, here's one for example.

Thanks for the chowhound tip! Copletely agree on Zagat. That's why I asked here.

  7. To refer back to my quoted post at the top of the page:

I was looking at those pictures and realized that i hate the way they are stacking now, so I'm going to cuff them a bit. comments/suggestion?

I also hated the way these stack. I had Gordon hem mine a second time to get them right. I think it's the softness of the denim that makes the stack kind of funny. These are the shortest jeans I've got but now I love them.
